They are both 4 cylinders, what years (if any) would be interchangeble? 2.2 litre motors are a dime a dozen and good on gas if you don't mind being underpowered...

2.2 should bolt up no problem. Don't know what years might interchange.

Why are you wanting to change engines? Lots of miles on the 2.5? The problem with buying used engines is that sometimes the engine you get is in worse shape than the one you already have. New rings and crank bearings would go a long ways toward rejuvenating your old engine and could be done without removing the engine. The 2.2 is going to be very underpowered in the van and since you're going to have to pull the engine, maybe you should consider a remanufactured engine. It may cost a little more but you'll be getting an engine that's in near new condition.

Yes they will. But a lot of the accessories may be different if it's not the same year. Also unless the 2.0 liter has low mileage, I would prefer going with a re manufactured long block if you plan on keeping the van.
