Sound like you may have a loose fly wheel nut that came loose but because it is a 4x4 start with your wheel bearings and your locking differrental front hubs then check your UJoints for end cap wear.
then check the inside of the brake drums for a broken clip or spring on the rear wheels brake assembly

This same exact thing has happened to me and when I took it in to get fixed they told me it was a sensor that was knocked off meaning the timing on it wasnt right and I needed to get a new one and the bad sensor made my fuel pump go out so I wasnt getting any fuel pressure built up which made me have no power to keep my truck going. The sensor was about $85 and Im not sure how much the fuel pump was but it was ALOT. My insurance that I have on my truck covered part if it so Im not sure how much the pump was. Hope this helps you.

If it's a u joint, you will have a bad viberation from start off on up to speed. What you have dascribed to me is a problem with the differential. Check the pinion slack and see how the bearings feel. while you are at it, chech the condition and level of the fluid.

check the u-joint in the front of the truck. one of mine went bad and it made this sound too. it isn't going to hurt the truck unless it breaks. i'd get it fixed asap because it is easy and cheap to fix.
