My moms driver's registration sticker expired on a holiday and now we don't know what to do. We don't know of any place to get a new one without having to wait until tomorrow; do you? Do you think the cops will still try and stop her with all of that in mind? How easy is it to get away with having an expired registration? She's new to this whole driving thing.

Don't drive! People have all year to prepare for the next year's renewal. It isn't as if a holiday is sprung on people suddenly. So, if her registration expires, on a holiday, a Sunday, whatever, and she didn't do the renewal, it is her fault, nobody else's, and she can't legally drive until it is renewed.
Depending on where she lives, her car could be impounded if she is pulled over. At the very least, she will get a ticket. In the event of an accident, she could have problems with insurance for driving illegally.

Your mom is fine. When an expiration date falls on a Federal holiday, you are not held accountable for the required renewal until the first business day following the holiday (tomorrow). Make sure your mom goes tomorrow to renew her registration ... and ENJOY today! :)

Honestly, I think you're going to be okay! They can't possibly hold something against you that you can't help and I know that in my state, they give you the entire month that your registration expires in to get it taken care of. I bet if you just get it done first thing tomorrow, you'll be fine!

For the future, however, you might think to get it done before the holiday, you know? So you won't be stressing yourself out. :)

Usually, one would have not let it expire. It should have been taken care of a month or two ago. Now, the sticker should be good til the end of the month, so unless you get pulled over, you should be cool. Take care of it tomorrow.
