Its the first one, the second one doesn't make and sense

Shes not asking for advice on the subject, shes asking for which interpretation of the original question is correct.

Not sure what you mean by which is better.

Walking and swimming are good exercises to start if you are a plus size person. Try to walk briskly and for at least 30 minutes a day. As you gain endurance, try to walk faster or slowly jog or alternate 1 minute of jogging with 1 minute of walking. To build and tone muscle, join a low impact/ weight loss class at your local Y or community centre.

Exercise alone may not be enough to reduce weight and move to a smaller size in clothing. A sensible weight loss diet may be needed.
