Accepting Jesus and realizing he died on the cross for our sins is what saves us. Baptism is something we do because we are Christians.

The teaching that Jesus is God is wrong. That's why basic bible teachings such as baptsim and salvation dont add up. Jesus was God's son. Not God. Jesus baptism symbolized his dedication to God. Our baptism should be an outward sign to others that we have personally dedicated our live to God in prayer to do is his will just as Jesus spent his life doing God's will. Our baptism is possible only because of Jesus sacrifice. It means that we have washed ourselves clean of our former life and have been raised up to a new life. So, you should be immersed in the water as Jesus was, and not sprinkled.

In Judaism baptism means different things.
First, Jesus was not baptized INTO anything. his was a Jewish ritual mikvah immersion bath. All Jewish women had to go through one every month at the end of her menstrual cycle before resuming sexual activity as well as after giving birth.
Jewish men had to immerse themselves before entering the great temple.
Still others immersed daily simply in order to be in a state of ritual impurity.
Another reason for immersion was simply to signify new life in God. Jesus did not NEED to have this baptism.....he CHOSE to undergo it to SHOW US the exterior way to that new life. Other men like Jesus also did what he did.....baptism and then time in the desert to pray. It was only for adult males -- around the age of 30.
The idea of baptism being what "now saves you" only came about several years later -- as the doctrine of salavation became more clear to the very young church.

Jesus came to set an example for us...if baptism was important for us, then it was important for him to model that behavior. In addition, if Jesus was God in a human suit, wouldn't that human suit have the same limitations as any other human body?
As I understand it, something about baptism allows us to be spiritually reborn without our sinful natures...it washes away the earthly "desires of the flesh". Jesus was baptized right before he went to be tempted by satan...perhaps this cleansing of his earthly desires was necessary for him, as a human, to resist the earthly temptations of evil?
Salvation doesn't come from baptism, it comes from accepting the sacrifice of Jesus...no, he didn't need salvation but perhaps he did need to bury his human weaknesses in order to become our savior just as we need to bury our human weaknesses in order to follow him!

If he needed to be baptized then he was capable of being tempted and commiting sin.
Christians are drowing in confusion when it comes to the heavenly Jesus and the earthly Jesus.

No. The best answer I can give you right now is, God did not appoint you to interpret the Church's Bible.
