unfortunately, not to offend you, but i believe you are one of the many mislead adults in today's world. the teenage world is a lot harder then it used to be, and with all the things that they hear in the news and everywhere else most of them are a lot more mature then they used to be. so personally i think teens are mature enough to have a girlfriend or boyfriend, because of what they experience in everyday life.

Part of being a person is finding a mate. Doesn't matter what age a person is - it depends on the person. Life's full of good and bad things and every age of person gets to see that. People have "boyfriends" and "girlfriends" at all different ages and their age usually effects the seriousness of the relationship. Kindergartners hold hands and sit by each other at story time, Jr highers meet at the mall on weekends, High schoolers stay out til midnight, and after that anything goes. The relationships mature with the age - so any age seems mature enough to have a "girlfriend/boyfriend" because there are different levels of the word.

i think that they should be able to have relationships. whether you think they are mature or not. it is true that the world is cruel but they need to learn it eventually. i had my first long relationship starting at age 15 and ended when I was 17. sure it was not the ideal relationship but i also learned a lot of things that I still apply in everyday life now. I think that it is wise to let them make thier own decisions when it comes to relationships. you can provide guidence but let them make thier choices

No, but then calling each other 'gf' and 'bf' has little meaning during those years...kids are just learning about social interaction, relationships, sexuality, etc. One on one dating is appropriate around age 16 and thats when things start to get more 'real' but still it's infatuation and lust, instead of (what they commonly mistake it for) love.

Dating is what makes the teenage years fun. They're not mature enough for something like MARRIAGE, but dating/having a boyfriend are girlfriend is fun. Double dates, homecoming, prom.. it's a blast.

well if you asked tht question years ago then anwers would be most likely yes but as you can see the increase of teen pregnancy and etc it shows teens are less immature now but really it depends, and well dating should be not for fun but for love :P so final anwser it depends if the individuals are mature or not.

what? if they have one their mature. im fifteen and the immature people at my school definitely dont have bfs or gfs. if a teenager feels like he/she is ready then they are. we have to learn how to interact somewhat intimately with the opposite sex. most marriages are of high school sweethearts, like my grandparents.

As with everything and anything, it depends on the individual.
Some people are mature enough, others are not.
