I am happily married 13 years and my husband and I are going to be married 14 years.

When we got engaged there was no element of suprise and it was very causal and not terribly romantic.

We had a lot of people on our case to hold off on being married as long as possible until we had jobs.

Being that we were going to have a long time to wait I wanted to at least be enagaged to have SOME sort of a commitment,
I love my ring it is understated yet beatuiful and symboloises purity in our lives. We went by the water he asked me and put the ring on my finger and I of course said yes.

My question is for my 14 wedding anniveresery we will be going to the mountains to celebrate what is a way to renew our vows and be spontaneous? I also asked if my husband could propose to me again with a ring of his choosing.

What is a great way to re takes our vows and make our weekend very memeorable and speical. Do you dress up when you renew your vows?

Renewing your vows outside on the mountaintops would be awesome or in a small country church. I would wear something nice and simple, not over the top ball room type wedding gown.

I have done a few vow renewals. The ones I like best are simple yet elegant and insanely romantic.

I would suggest picking out a spot in the woods and using what nature has available for a make shift arch or something of that effect to hang flowers on or find a tree with character. If you can be near water to recapture some of the memory of the first wedding that may be special also.
Wear something simple yet elegant and eyepleasing. (perhaps that flutters a little in the breeze.) That also shouts femininity and romance. He should wear at least a nice collar shirt and dress pants. Have a table dressed for a nice picnic for two, strawberries and champagne, Godiva chocolates, and a small yet beautiful and decadent cake. Sprinkle the area with lots of live rose petals so the environment is not hurt. Have an officiant or celebrant meet you there.

If this will be a big celebration the same setup should work for multiple guests. You may also want to try to keep the guest list to married couples and immediate adult family and have tables for two decked out in a clearing.

Congrats on the longevity and success of your relationship.

God has blessed you with a wonderful marriage that you are now celebrating 14 years. How wonderful for you.
For something to be spontaneous, it really should be a bit of a surprise, so obviously you are exepcting something so it is no longer a surprise for the engagement. However, a BIG surprise would be for you to present your loving husband with an engagement ring ( a simple crest ring or something similar) and ask him if he would marry you all over again, and then go from there..
Plan a beautiful wedding up in the montains as though you were doing it all for the first time. Trust me, it will be just as special.
Really, the only difference in a wedding for the first time and a vowel renewal is the paperwork. The rest can be the same..
I hope you have a wonderful time and best wishes for 14 more years x 5....

My husbands aunt and uncle renewed their vows at their 60th wedding anniversary.

They had a big church wedding and a receptions, she wore a cream coloured suit and he a tux and their kids were the wedding party.

It was beautiful to watch, I still have the pictures with them cutting their wedding cake.

Your plan sounds like it will be very romantic and a beautiful way to celebrate and renew your vows.

Congrats of 14 years of a happy marriage and I wish you many more to come.

Sure! You can dress up to the nines to renew your vows if you want, so go for it!

Fourteen years! Congrats!

May you have many more happy years ahead of you.

Have your ceremony in the mountains with close family beside you.
