I am pretty short, I'm 5-6 and I'm 16yrs old, so how do I get taller because my parents are 5-5 and I think "what I am is the max" height that I can get??? but isn't there any physical way to grow taller by stretching (playing basketball?) even by pills? or do I need more hormones?etc?

Dear one....you cannot MAKE yourself grow taller. It is all in genetics. Just because your parents are 5'5" doesn't mean that you will be a short statured person. You are already an inch taller than they are. Playing basketball, stretching, etc. will NOT....I repeat NOT make you taller. No pills are available that will alter your DNA and make you taller. Here is a new article I was reading just this morning on the internet about height and genetics. Read it. Everybody cannot be tall, everybody cannot be short. I'm sure you are a very attractive young man and you will stay attractive irregardless of the height your body stops at. By the way, Medical Science HAS proven that a human will grow taller until the age of 28 years. That is the age the bones will stop growing.

I actually used the program that "Skippy" guy speaks of. It really does work. That same website, http://www.growtall.pcti-system.com .. I played Women's basketball in college, and I used that to gain a couple in height. A total of 2.5 inches. After that, it seemed to plateau though. I could not gain any more than 2 1/2, no matter how hard I tried. But those inches really gave me an advantage in my games. Well worth it.

First off, you are only an inch shy of the average height of an American male, so you shouldn't be stressing so much! That being said- you can always go to an endocrinologist to have your HGH level tested. The "cure" is injecting HGH into your stomach everyday for several years and "Maybe" you'll be 2 inches taller. Of course, if there is no medical reason, you're just stuck being a tad on the short side. Their are plenty of wonderful men who are short and have wonderful lives. Go on and make yours great!

The height you will reach is in your genes. Look at how tall your mother and father are and you'll more than likely fall in between them or as tall as one of them. If there are any taller siblings of your parents you may attain that height. It is all determined by your genes.
There is a genetic defect where people grow to be 7-9 feet tall. It is called Acromegaly:
Acromegaly is a hormonal disorder that most commonly occurs in middle-aged men and women. The prevalence of acromegaly is approximately 4,676 cases per million population, and the incidence is 116.9 new cases per million per year. The name "acromegaly" comes from the Greek words for "extremities" (acro) and "great" (megaly), because one of the most common symptoms of this condition is abnormal growth of the hands and feet.

The symptoms of acromegaly can vary and they develop gradually over time; therefore, a diagnosis of this condition may be difficult. Early detection is a goal in the management of acromegaly because the pathologic effects of increased growth hormone (GH) production are progressive.

When GH-producing tumors occur in childhood, the disease that results is called gigantism rather than acromegaly. A child’s height is determined by the length of the so-called long bones in the legs. In response to GH, these bones grow in length at the growth plates—areas near either end of the bone. Growth plates fuse after puberty, so the excessive GH production in adults does not result in increased height. However, prolonged exposure to excess GH before the growth plates fuse causes increased growth of the long bones and thus increased height. Pediatricians may become concerned about this possibility if a child’s growth rate suddenly and markedly increases beyond what would be predicted by previous growth and how tall the child’s parents are.

your height is just fine...
you still got some yrs to grow, males can grow till they're 23 i think..or around that.
i dont think there's anyway to make yourself taller unless you wanna do surgery...
painful surgery where they break your legs pretty much and add surgical steel to your bones...and go thru growing pains all over again as your muscle stretch.
