kids were playing and she got the corner of the "crate divider" (which we no longer use and was stored behind something)- the part that hooks behind the metal bars in the crate- caught in her lower eye lid. I got it out within seconds and it hasn't bled and after the initial yelping when it happened, she's been calm and quiet- even wagging her tail at the door at people. I put her in her crate to rest though and to see how it goes. So far, it actually looks okay which I find amazing. Is there anything else you think I should/could do?

It wouldn't hurt to have a vet look at it, but if money is tight, then just wait and watch it.

If the eye begins to swell, have a lot of discharge, look red, etc, then take her to the vet.

If she starts acting like it hurts her, take her to the vet.

If she's acting normal and the eye looks fine, then don't worry too much about it. Puppies are tough

Watch her eye.. is all you can really do.. Does she hold her eye closed, or has the 3rd lid come up?? No watering or anything? Watch for irritation or signs of infection and if you see something get her in to the vet.

Watch for swelling and redness a sign of infection. Eye tissue itself heals pretty quick. If she is comfortable I'd wait to see if it worsens. At the first sign of trouble get her into the Vet.
