i don't even know the notes of each string. the biggest string is what note. the smallest string is what note. can you please name all the notes that go with what string. i have a tuner, it will tell you if it is in tune or if it is flat or too high. does the b symbol mean high or flat? how can i tune it correctly? thank you so much.

Take your instrument to a music store and ask that they tune it for you--if you are uncomfortable with using your tuner.

The b symbolizes a flat note. The # symbolizes a sharped note.

The strings, from the largest to the thinnest, are E A D G B E.

You can tune a guitar using the fourth and fifth frets, but you ought to have a guitarist at the music store explain how it's done.
