I just watched a documentary on Scientology
oh....my god
I thought...no no, this surely must be one-sided, there can't really be people this insane. So I watched another one, and then another one

I'm speechless, I have no words
These people actually sound dangerous

what do you guys think?

I think you're absolutely correct, the organization IS dangerous and can turn otherwise decent people into brainwashed thugs for the Scientology mob. And I know it SEEMS "one sided", but that's because the "good" stuff is all a facade, a front, a smokescreen. Once you get beyond that, you see that their "self help" and their "contributions to humanity" are a house of cards meant to distract from their thinly veiled scam.

Most documentaries on Scientology are one-sided. If you've ever been friends with Scientologists, you would understand the religion. However most people don't, and they end up getting all their info from a biased media.

The average Scientologist is just as sane as you or me. The only problem is that the Church of Scientology is becoming steadily more corrupt... which by no means has escaped the minds of the followers. In fact, there's an increasing number of "protestant" (for lack of a better word) Scientologists.

If you watched a documentary on your own religion, would it come off any better?

It tends to be alot the same. Most of the people who make use of it, dont believe absolutely everything in their holy books. Most of them dont give up all of their worldly possessions to reach the top of the religion or become full time fanatics. And many people try it for abit and then leave with no hard feelings either direction.

I took a couple of their courses then left. Great stuff. Very useful. On the other hand, I had more trouble with the things I said above with the baptists. :)

You don't find out about a religion by watching onesided biased documentaries that were created for the purposes of attacking it.

Your "reaction" is precisley what the makers of these documentaries intend to cause in you.
Check out what the Nazis said about the Jews right before they wiped out 6 million.

There are hundreds of thousands of very sane and very happy Scientologists all over the world.
Calm down.

If you thought they were one sided you could be right.

The truth about Scientology can been seen and experienced by any able person.

Does the Church of Scientology view the press as hostile?
