The "Anything You Can Do" and the "Sisters" songs both are already good suggestions for girls in their early teens. And you are right, songs do come off better when you can sing something age appropriate. There is another song I might suggest called "Why Am I Me?" from a show called Shenandoah- it is really fun, about two kids that are from different social classes. This one is a real duet, with two clearly separate parts. There is a music book called "Broadway Kids- Sing Broadway" based on a CD of the same name. You can find it in there with many kids songs for teens/kids. You could also do "I Won't Grow Up" from Peter Pan.
Another song that might work, (though you would have to separate the verses and share them since it wasn't first a duet) "Happiness" from Your a Good Man Charlie Brown.
One other great tune for 13 year olds is from a brand new show "13" called "What it Means to Be a Friend" by Jason Robert Brown, neat show only in California as of yet- not to broadway- but the composer has had other shows on Broadway. The site link I'm leaving you below has mp3 versions you can stream to hear- it will come soon too- finally a song for young girls tha isn't babyfied like Annie- not that that doesn't have its place, its just overdone too (like Wicked). Keep singing.

I think a fun duet for you would be "Anything you can do I can do better" From "Annie Get your Gun" By Irving Berlin. It was originally sung by a man and a woman but I am sure that there are arrangements available that could be adapted to two girls.
I'm superior, you're inferior
I'm the big attraction, you're the small
I'm the major one, you're the minor one
I can beat you shootin', that's not all
Anything you can do, I can do better
I can do any thing better than you
No you can't, Yes I can, No you can't, Yes I can
No you can't, Yes I can, yes I can
Anything you can be I can be greater
Sooner or later, I'm greater than you
No you're not, Yes I am, No you're not Yes I am
No you're not, Yes I am, yes I am
I can shoot a partridge with a single cartridge
I can get a sparrow with a bow and arrow
I can do most anything
Can you bake a pie? No. Neither can I
Anything you can sing I can sing louder
I can sing anything louder than you
No you can't....
Anything you can buy, I can buy cheaper
I can buy anything cheaper than you
Fifty cents, Forty cents, Thirty cents, Twenty cents
No you can't, Yes I can, yes I can
Anything you can dig, I can dig deeper
I can dig anything deeper than you
Thirty feet, Forty feet, Fifty feet, Sixty feet
No you can't, Yes I can, yes I can
I can drink my liquor faster than a flicker
I can do it quicker and get even sicker
I can live on bread and cheese
And only on that? Yes, So can a rat
Anything you can reach, I can go higher
I can sing anything higher than you
No you can't....
Anyone you can lick, I can lick faster
I can lick anyone faster than you
With your fist? With my feet, With your feet? With an axe
No you can't, Yes I can, yes I can
Any school where you went, I could be master
I could be master much faster than you
Can you spell, No I can't, Can you add, No I can't
Can you teach, Yes I can, yes I can
I could be a racer, quite a steeple chaser
I can jump a hurdle even with my girdle
I can open any safe
With out being caught? Yes, That's what I thought, you crook
Any note you can hold I can hold longer
I can hold any note longer than you.
No you can't, Yes I ca-a-a-a-an, Yes you ca-a-an

Another one that's great is "I Enjoy Being a Girl" from Flower Drum Song. Here is the video of Nancy Kwan doing it from the movie:

She does it solo but it would still be a great duet.
Here is a highschool video of "One Boy" from Bye Bye Birdie, its still pretty good.

"Sisters" by Irving Berlin is fun, from the movie White Christmas.
I can't find a clip of the girls singing it... The only video clip I was able to find is from another scene in the movie, where Bing Crosby and his buddy lip synch it for a laugh! Either way, it's a great duet with nice harmonies.

It maybe too early, but, I'd love to see 2 13 year olds sing Santa Baby. It's a really cute tune. And the switching harmony would be sweet.
OR................ I don't know what it's called BUT it's on the movie track O'Bother where art tho. It's a song/lullabye that goes....
Go to sleep little baby,Go to sleep little baby, you and me and the devil makes three, don't need no other lovin baby.
It sounds better than it reads. Really pritty tune.
Now if you two are total pro's you might want to look up the Andrew Sisters. But that might be tooo tough for now but worth the listen.

I'm so sorry you won't entertain the idea of pop songs, because the adsolute best blending of female voices I have ever heard was the 1956 hit recording of Tonight You Belong To Me by Patience and Prudence. It is a light, catchy harmonizing that is easy to sing. If you don't consider it for this performance, at least please remember it for future performances.
