I don't think it really matters what kind you use, but I know that the salted kind taste much better. The salty sweet flavor is very pleasing to the palate. Much more so than just sweet flavors. Similar to trail mix, with the raisins and salty peanuts.

It actually all depends on your preference.
If you are making it for someone that needs little or no salt in their diet then you should probably use the no salt pretzels then get a chocolate that has little or low sodium.
If you using it to just serve then the salted ones I think they are the best they give it more of an enhancement than the unsalted.
It strictly has to go by your preference.
Mine personal preference is the salted pretzels.

I personally like to use salted because of the salty/sweet combination you get. If you look at prepackaged chocolate covered pretzels, they are normally salted. Otherwise it can be a bit bland.

IMO - salted. They really add to the taste of the chocolate. I get my pretzels from CostCo. They come in a huge barrel and are the perfect size for chocolate dipping.

I would say salted. You should also try potato chips sometime--they are so good. Ruffles are the best ones to use. For Pretzels try Snyder's rods.

You can use either. It is really your choice.
I think it would be healtheir if you used unsalted pretzels.

I really like the salted best.
But I also like dipping potatoe chips in cake icing. We did not have chocolate the other night and I dipped popcorn in white cake icing. sweet and salty I like it!

I like it with the salt better, but it's really personal taste.
