I would go for a blush or a white zin to cover it all and forget a dessert wine
(Psst! DeLoach makes a fabulous white zin)

First of all, burgers are not a BBQ. Burgers are grilled not barbecued. Second, whether it's a barbecue, a smoker, or a grill, it's a back yard get-together and beer is a better choice than wine. I'd rather juggle a beer bottle than a wine glass on the back patio.
Save the wine for the fancy dinner table meals.

A really nice white is Conundrum. Personally I drink champagne with everything even beef burgers. I like Cuvee M by Mumm Napa Valley for a casual picnic. It's not expensive. A really nice red zinfandel (NOT white zinfandel) would go well with burgers as well. I like a good muscat or late harvest zinfandel for dessert. Do everyone a favor and don't serve cheap nasty wine; all it's good for is a hangover.

You could get a nice Merlot or Shiraz for the reds(serve room temp.), and then a white wine chilled Chardonnay and a white Zinfandel for later.. or you could go with a cordial for dessert, like a Baileys, or Kahlua and coffee, or if you want to spend some bucks, get Grand Marnie'. Hope you have a great BBQ! Happy Labor day!

Somehow I would expect to have a glass of wine with a turkey burger and potato salad. I would have an assortment of cans of soda buried in ice. If you insist on wines, I would just buy some Boone's Farm. That is about the only cheap fruity wine that I can think of that would go with your menu.
