Don't forget the obvious...
Does your burner recognize all formats of CD/DVD's? The most recognized format is the minus ones... DVD-R or CD-R. If you are trying to use a +R, it will kick it out as unrecognizable.
Same thing with players and burned copies.

Are you trying to copy a CD onto DVD?
Check the user manual to be sure that the DVD writer supports the media type you're using. I got bit trying to burn DVD-R- in a writer that required DVD-R+ or DVD-RW.
Also make sure it's a blank DVD! Been there, done that!

You need good software to make a backup copy of a DVD. I've used 123 Copy DVD Software - Backup any DVD in 3 clicks. Only $29.99. As easy as 1-2-3. Try the Trial Version.

Sometimes there is hidden copyright on a disk that the pc cannot see.
As long as YOU ARE the origional owner, you can get an application called, ANY DVD from slysoft, and it will bust through any copy protections to allow your drive to make a LEGAL copy.
I am not telling you, nor do I endorse you to use this information for illegal copies of anything you do not own.
