This morning I dreamt that I was in a 5k race. I wasn't able to keep pace for some reason so I looked down at myself and I was fat! Like I had fat arms and fat legs and I looked like a carbon copy of the Pillsbury dough boy! My normal 5k race time varies from 22 to like 24 mins. But as of late, I've been pigging out on ice cream big time! ( o _ 0 ) I haven't gained any weight at 5'5 138 to 140lbs. Maybe I need to lay off the ice cream right before bed? Your thoughts?

You need to lay off the guilt complex and quit freaking out.
What is your real reward for running 5k's? Is it achieving a better time, winning 1st place, being in good physical health, looking good, what??
With an indefinable goal, your reward is intangible. Right now you are pigging out on ice cream because it's hot outside in summertime, and ice cream is a definable reward or treat to yourself. But you feel guilt about it because you are afraid it will mess up your intangible reward for successfully completing a 5k.
You need to take a moment to try to establish some clear rewards for yourself for your successful 5k runs. Something tangible, like getting new running shoes you really like after running a 5k with your best time ever, or a trip to the beach or the lake to relax after a hard training series.
By not making the ice cream the physical reward and focusing on a better reward for your hard work, you will reduce the impact and the associated guilt with it.
Maybe you should switch to lower calorie ice cream or popsicles as a treat, and save the high cal schtuff for once in a while.
Good luck.
