It probably would be a good idea to go see your family doctor to see if they can inject Kenalog or any equivalent (it's steroid based) and is used to decrease the inflammation in the scar. You would have to get multiple injections on a regular basis to see if it helps. This works well if the scar is relatively new. If not, your doctor can refer you to a dermatologist for other options, such as laser.

You might want to try silicone strips , they flatten lighten and thin out scar tissue . They were originally used on plastic surgery patients. they can be used again and again. they are on the expensive side, most scar removers on the market contain some form of silicone, it will take some time ,it took a season for them to work on me.
