Admittedly not so much a question as a bit of crowing...my husband, on his very first hunt ever, took a 58.75 in moose!! Not only is our freezer going to be full, but that's a trophy to boot. I hope he has as much luck getting a Dall Sheep!

What's your favorite game, and how do you like it cooked? I love ground moose in anything. Makes the best chili, enchiladas, meatloaf, burgers.....

Back-strap off that moose. Cut into 2 inch thick medallions wrap in bacon just like fillet Mignon. Take iron skillet put in oven at 500 degrees for about 5 minutes. While the oven and skillet are heating up put a little olive oil on steaks and then sprinkle with ground black pepper and kosher salt. Put skillet on stove burner high heat cook each side for about 3 min. mmmm tasty

Congrats! I live in Texas...not any moose here. Deer is good in spagetti, tacos, chilli, mix it with alittle wild hog for hamburgers, jerky, fried deersteaks, or sometimes we take the deersteaks/put them in a slow cooker/one package onion soup mix/can of mushroom soup/a can or two of water/and sometimes add carrotts or potatoes/cook all day. Pretty tasty. We use deer meat basically for everything we would have used beef for.

If you've got em up there , try partridge or pheasant . Just clean them and put them in a bucket . Add cheap 'box' wine to cover . Wait 2 or 3 days and bake . Cover with a light chicken gravy/sauce made with a little wine and fresh herbs . Serve with rice . Wild rice if you have it . Wow what a dish !!

Venison and Pheasant are still my favorites but I like a good bear roast if it's prepared properly. Never much cared for mutton.

congrats! nothing like a well stock larder for the approaching winter.

we have a lot of deer here and the boys got two last Christmas on our land.

i am not real fond of the 'wild' taste and i like it mostly in ground form for casseroles like you mentioned. but my family like the deer steaks best using a their secret marinate. i could tell you but then they would have to kill us both lol.
