So I work at the jewerly store at the mall and many tourists shop at this mall. They don't speak any and understand any English. How do I just say fake silver????

All the members who answered before me are correct, you can trust them a 100%, I just want to add another word in case you deal with Mexican customers. If that is the case they will ask you if is chapa, ¿ES CHAPA? which mean if that jewelry received a silver coat; another are a little more aggressive asking ¿ES CHAFA? = Is it fake?
CHAPA = coated
CHAFA = fake

Yes, "plata falsa"is the right way.
Only problem is "plata" also means "money"
in some locales. So someone might think
"plata falsa" means "phony money"!
(I watched the movie "Maria Full of Grace",
and they used plata = money all the time.)

Tell them it isn't silver:
No es plata.
Sterling silver is "esterlina".
In Mexico, non-silver items are often described as being made of "alpaca", a combination of nickel, tin and who knows what else.

"plata falsa" is a direct translation, or you can say "plata de fantasia" which literraly means "fantasy silver" or "not real silver".
