You're speaking of Westboro Baptist Church. It is NOT affiliated with any genuine Baptist group, but just took that name, to make themselves sound important. Almost the entire 'congregation' are members of the same large extended family. I have heard "Reverend" Phelps (who "ordained" HIMSELF evidently, for I can find NO ONE who will take credit for his ordaining!) on many occasions and have come to the conclusion that he probably has homosexual tendencies himself, and so hates the idea that he is tempted that he goes WAY overboard to try to 'compensate' for his own leanings.

They are a thoroughly wierd group, which prove the fact of modern day demon possession.....Not that I'm opinionated on this matter of course!

A sect that thinks they are the only ones going to heaven, when honestly, they'll make heaven such a hell.
We'll have more fun with satan down below if they're not there.

I once said to my friend "God has multiple personalities. He has one for the jews, one for the christians, one for the muslims, and one for the westboro baptist church."

Fred Phelps is an idiot and a loser caught up in his own bigotry. He has indoctrinated his children and grandchildren into it, and he needs to be stopped. Someone should just shoot him and get it over with, social workers should save the children that haven't gotten in too deep and the gov should sterilize everyone else.
It's disgusting and filthy that those people have the nerve to call themselves christians.

You're talking about the Westboro Babtist Church located in Topeka Ks. I don't think the church even knows what it's protesting any more. At first it was against homosexuality, now it's against the soldiers because we allow homosexuality. These idiots are a bunch of attention seeking fools. I wouldn't even call it a church any more, it's more like a cult of hate. Eventually they will have to answer to what they have done. Here in Topeka, we just laugh at the silly little people standing on the corners.

There are two covenants. The covenant between God and Israel (Jacob) and his descendants and the covenant between God and everyone else. This second covenant is for all mankind.

In the first covenant, homosexual relationships are forbidden to Israel and his descendants. The commandment does not applied to non Jews.

In the second (new) covenant, the only restriction can be found in 1 Cor 10:23-24.

No where does the bible say God hates homosexuals. Paul, who happens to be a descendant of Israel, does describe behavior of homosexual relationships. What is missing is that Hellenistic society was bisexual.

Jesus loved the Father above man though. Those who hate the Father---Jesus hates also. Those whose Father is the Father of confusion and lies is Jesus' enemy. Did Jesus lovingly and with a comforting smile on his face whip the money changers out of the Temple?----NO. There IS such a thing as righteous anger and this is reserved for those who ignore the word of God.

Christianity, as its name says, is the teachings of Christ, which are only to be found in the New Testament. So why do many so-called Christians take their extreme views from the Old Testament, which has nothing to do with Christianity?

there are churches that say all kinds of things but that doesn't mean they are doing what God would have them do
God doesn't hate homosexuals and they are misled - its just like the people who were saying that God hated the Jews - which obviously wasn't true.

you're talking about the westboro baptists, led by fred phelps and now his daughter, shirley.

why is this surprising? christians rarely agree on ANY intrepretation of ANY bible passage. they just take it more extremely than some of you.
