The filthy garbage in the mid east are loosing ground - daily.
The immigration bill went down in a ball of flames.
Americans or at least white Americans have heard RACISM so many times that the word has lost 95% of it's momentum.
Americans ( the sleeping GIANT ) is starting to come out of his nap.
Good folks like the minutemen are the physical voice of the sentiment of Americans.
Businesses are going to get in trouble for hireing illegals.
Yes - the "jig - is - up " hope you had your fun. You will see the this country ( within 5 years ) slowly make a turn around to this craziness that has allowed to run wild for too long.
Your job as Americans is to laugh in their faces when they call you a racist. - What do think your father or your grandfather whould have done if someone called them a racist.
Curl up in ball and suck his thumb in a corner somewhere ?

He who laughs first........isn't paying complete attention.
Let's deal with this NAU thing, and then I'll jump on your bandwagon, put on a majorette outfit, and lead the band and the parade.

Sorry, but you are not being realistic. The Dems will bring up a new amnesty bill after the election in 2009. They will probably gain a few seats in the Senate so it will be easier to pass. Either Clinton or Obama would probably beat any of the Repub candidates in a general election which means taxes will go up and an amnesty-type immigration bill might become law.
The Housing market is slumping, the National Debt approaches $9 trillion, we have a budget deficit every year, even when the economy is strong, and our manufacturing base continues to shrink. Oh, and Iran will have nuclear weapons in a year or two unless we or Israel attacks them.
Several raging libs called you a racist even though there is nothing against any race in your post. Still optomistic?

Your basic sentiment is sound. Speaking of the Father and Grandfather thing..... historically in many ways and with many issues America is often slow to rouse. But when they do things start happening.
Look at it...... Sen. McCain. Statesman, respected, a war hero and a shoe in for the military vote which includes older people with traditional values...... military or not...... democrat or not. And those are the people who vote. He backed the illegal thing and his campaign is done.
Things are changing and I would agree that the whole racism thing is done. Those rallies where immigrants waved foriegn flags and such hurt them the worst. Since we are in a war people are paying more attention.
And as another said at the local level things are changing. I live in a county outside of Washington DC. In an part of the region where pretty much most of those who actually are military/government/work for government/do business w. government.
My county passed the denial of certain services and gave the police the ability to question one about their legal status. And to hold them if not legal. There was a big racist hoohah. The neighboring counties have passed the same or are getting ready to. This is not the sticks but where people who are in the seat of government live and applies to where millions live.

The Joker makes an excellent point.Don't be lulled into complacency. The NAU is coming in on a fast track across the nation. With it comes an unspoken amnesty to the millions already here. The bill that was shot down was never meant to pass.Only stir the people to look at that and ignore the true issue...NAU.

i think that the 'silent majority' is no longer being silent. i think the defeat of the 'comprehensive immigration bill' was a rude awaking to congress but i fear that they will try again when they resume session soon. we need to keep vigilant.
congress passes bills but they provide no financing for enforcement measures thus making the bill ineffective. they made new immigration laws in '86 and we see how well that worked. a big waste of our tax dollars!
states are now making laws to provide the enforcement for the current laws..my state, OK, passed one recently and we have seen a significant drop in the illegal population. they migrated to more 'friendly' sanctuary cities who wanted them and now they have them along with the financial burdens and the increased criminal actives that seem to accompany them.
everyone should encourage their state to adopt such laws and then the illegals will go back at their own expense and not cost us dollars to deport them. it is not that difficult to solve the issue IMO.
