I suppose that depends how you judge success.
Do you mean financial success? There are no pockets in shrouds so should you find there is an afterlife, money you earn in this lifetime won't do you much good 'cause you can't take it with you.

You can't take anything with you when you go, so monetary success is useless. Although If you are spiritually bankrupt when you leave here you will be spiritually bankrupt when and If you get there.
