They're just real estate. They might as well be put to some use, if they're vacant. I've never seen one that's not being used as a church, but I hope they alter the edifice enough that it doesn't look like people are staggering out of a sunrise service.

It makes me a bit sad, too, but it's not wrong. After all, we're not supposed to get attached to the things of the world.

There was a great club in New York called The palladium i think.. The british host downtown julie brown used to broadcast from there, For mtv back in tha' day. I think it's fine.. there are ALOT of really cool gothic churches that would make GREAT Teahouses much less clubs. =)

Lol well considering our ancestors died creating churches, protecting the Lies of religion. I believe they should be used for some good, not a night club....
How about sell them to goths who love the architecture and Design, and the fact they live in a church surounded by the dead!

How about this for worse, the government says its ok for them to build on greenbelt land because we have too many people in our country!
CLOSE THE BORDERS!!!!

The church is undergoing a melt down, alright. God is cleaning up. He is calling His own, out of the perversions and into His light.

We already know these things. Let the church buildings burn. the Christians will not lose their way because of it.

Sorry for the confusion it's causing but the fact is, this world is running out of time to make huge decisions like, heaven or hell.

Can you please elaborate on this question? I'm not sure what you mean by churches being converted into clubs. I am aware of churches which reach out to the community by offering places for youth to hang out, complete with video games, coffee house, recreational activities, skateparks (for skateboarders and skaters) and that sort of thing, but I have never heard nor seen any church which has been converted into a club.

Not I, most of my favorite clubs were once churches. Nothing like listenin to some dark heavy skinny puppy smokin and drinkin in a dark church with that heavy industrial going.. awesome.

Well clubs seem sort of silly. But I'd rather see a building put to *good* use vs. torn down if not used for its original purpose. I'm so tired of trees being torn down for new strip malls, houses etc.

I do not know of any that have, but I would have no problem with it. You see, the Church is NOT A BUILDING! The Church is the people that have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, repented of their sins, been Baptized and follow HIM. In short the churhc is not mortar and stone, but it is those that trust in Jesus alone.

What about the other way round?

Look at the Rainbow in London, that was a decent venue and some fine bands played there - now it is a Church.

Oh well.

Unfortunately this happens a lot in the norther, occupied part of cyprus. they were turned into more than clubs and some have graffitt all over them and were plundered, after the war.
If i were and ex-northern cypriot, i wouldve been depressed knowing what has happened to my places of worship.

look at this hear, another question similar to yours. but its by a christian:::http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AuDukKYDIxy2u_7X0SR_Tt3ty6IX?qid=20070823060745AA3HorI
