By sacrifice, I mean you'll no longer exist and neither will your soul or spirit. God gave you a choice and you can say "no" if you want.

I'd want to know the details of what "for the good of mankind" meant.

Edited to add:

I could see my Gods asking that (not demanding - asking), and if the gain was worth the price to myself and my family/friends, then yes, I would. I don't believe my soul or spirit retains its cohesiveness when I die anyway, so as long as it would mean returning my energy to the Universe, it'd be for a good cause.

I'd have more reluctance if it was the Judeo-Christian God asking, however, because according to the Bible there are several examples of what God thinks is "for the good of mankind" (mass genocide, floods, pain visited on generations for the sins of the fathers, etc.) that isn't in sync with my understanding of the phrase.

It does not propose that killing is ok in God's eyes using fact he did no longer have him kill it. i think of the tale grow to be to make certain despite the fact that if or no longer Abraham had blind faith in God. i believe the tale is pretty plenty asserting believe and each thing would be ok. no longer unavoidably faith in God, yet faith customarily. those are all only memories in spite of each thing. despite the fact that if at one factor they have been real after the quantity of time that has long handed by employing and the translations they went with the aid of it rather is barely suited that they could seem a touch ridiculous under the perception that those memories are precisely what got here approximately. in an attempt to end my answer i believe that the tale is only that...a narrative...and that this is going to be interpreted despite the fact that in case you want, yet I doubt that it grow to be meant to be interpreted as killing is ok if God says so. i'm hoping i'd desire to help.

It would be like God telling you to go to satan if you lost both your body and soul and we know He wouldn't ask that. But I guess if that was the only choice, yes. Thank God we do have the choice now, and I am giving my Life to Him in return for my soul reigning with Him eternally!

God shouldn't waste his time on us.
we pray to him to cure the world of all wars and hunger, but if we really understood what God is all about we wouldn't be wasting our words in this forum,
we would be out there fixing the bad things, and helping those that are in need
would you believe God should listen to a man who is dying of cancer because of his bad habits,
or a new born baby girl who is dying of malnutrition.
stop asking God for the impossible he hasnt got time and wouldnt realy listen anyway.

Depends on how much good, and I would wonder why God could not do it himself. I might do it if I believed the scenario, but a part of me would think that God was being a jerk and loved the drama.

I would also think that God would let my soul live anyway, and reincarnate me as a child somewhere.

That's what every parent is asked. That is why some parents are better than others, some can't handle the sacrifice.

You didn't say how "god" would ask . How would you know for sure that the message was from god ? Would you demand a signature witnessed by a justice-of-the-peace ?
Or would this request be imaginary superstition ?
I'll give you my answer when I know how you received the request and identified the sender .

god can do everything by himself
he says 'kun fa yah koon' and it is done
if ever for the sake of the argument he asked me, i would happily oblige,
to sacrifice one life for many lives is a great deal better than not to sacrifice your life and make the whole of mankind suffer.

That request would never be necessary because Jesus' was the only sacrifice necessary .. he gave his life "once for all time".

That said, no. Because if I heard God's voice telling me to sacrifice my existence now and in the future, I'd have myself committed to the nearest psych ward. Why? Because God no longer speaks to humans through angels etc. He speaks to us through the Bible. There's a reason it's called "God's WORD".
