Not completely. If one is truly submitted to God, he actually has little, or essentially nothing to worry about.
If I know I am doing God's will - if I am just where God wants me to be, I should trust Him in all things. It may be out of my personal comfort zone, but if God has truly placed me there, I really should not worry about my next meal.
Can I control my finances/income? To some extent, yes. If I am foolish and wind up in debt (I have done so), then my struggle is a consequence of my actions. If I do little to work to my full potential, then I reap what little I sow.
It is true, however, there are other things which are out of our control. These are the things we must seek God about and trust that He has everything under control - seek Him for answers as well as actions on our own part.
I have found that true submission actually alleviates worry - worry is not submission - worry is our own power, actions, plans, thoughts, reason, etc., attempting to somehow look for a way out or solve the issue. If I am in the hospital for a broken leg and the best orthopedist in the world is taking care of me, I can submit to him because he will take good care of me - right?
Submitting to God is not rolling over and wallering in our worries and cares. It is allowing God to do what He does which is out of our control and doing what is ours to do.
Make sense?

I believe God tends to communicate metaphorically. "Submit to God" could mean open yourself up to what is most forgiving and compassionate in yourself. Taking your mum out of the sky could refer to some new awareness of her as a real human woman, rather than an idealized parental figure. You may be presented with an opportunity to see the weaknesses in her character, but rather than rejecting this awareness, or rejecting her, you could actually learn to relate to her on a more genuine level by "submitting to God" (i.e. committing to act with kindness). Obviously, I don't know you, so I'm going on intuition here...

I'm not sure what it means. As I look around today I am sure of one thing, for all the people who say they do, it doesn't seem to be doing much for our country in the way of good. I see corruption, greed, contempt, divorce, adultery and a host of other problems stemming from those who claim to be christians. Just look at the people running for President as an example.

Lose your life so that you may gain your Life! There is only God's Will. Your will is an attempt to make yourself as relevant as God. A worry is a refusal to see that you have no will.

1. Alignment with God and His purposes.
Matthew 6:10 "Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
We are praying for alignment with God's and His purpose
YOUR kingdom come YOUR will be done
In my life, circumstances, family---YOUR WILL
John 4:34 "Jesus said to them, 'My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.'"
To see an increase in our anointing—we must see that we are called to finish God's work
2) Walk in Yeildedness to God…surrender.
Surrendering to his will AND His ways
Luke 22:42 "saying, "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done."
Mark 14:36 "And He said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will."
God's will must be done God's way
No compromise
We need to do it the way God says in His Word to do it
3) Come to a place of desperate dependence in God.
· If God doesn't do it, it won't get done
· Not good enough to pull it off
John 5:19 " Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.
John 5:30 "I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me."
"nothing"—an absolute negative
John 5:30 (The Message) "I can't do a solitary thing on my own…"
Paraphjrase---John 5:30 "By myself I have absolutely no power or authority"
This is Jesus, clothed in flesh, willingly laying down his divine power
John 15:5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."
How do we get more power?
1) Come into alignment with God and His purposes—what's He up to?
2) A Yeildedness to God's way

I think it means two things: (1) doing that which one believes God wants us to do, and (2) not doing those things which one believes God doesn't want us doing.

Gods will is that all will believe in Jesus Christ. In Him is Gods love and forgiveness. Everything else is interpreted differently, so you can do what you wish. We are set free, only do not use your freedom selfishly.

No, it means exactly that, SUBMITTING. But in order to do that, you need to know what God's will IS so you CAN submit.
