So I just got my first Tattoo yesterday. The artist did great and gave us all the instructions on how to take care of it. The one thing he didn't tell me, and I forgot to ask is when can I shave over it? It's on my leg so I will have to shave someday.

Wait until it is totally healed, should be good to go in a week to 10 days. If you shave and there is scabbing you will pull the color out. Welcome to the world of tattoos. I have 10 and will do 1 more with family tree design. 63 and still hooked on them

For my first tattoo I waited a little over a week before shaving. Mine is on my leg too, and basically the guy who did mine told me as soon as the inflammation went down and it felt comfortable, I was okay to shave there. It doesn't really have much to do with the tattoo itself, more with how irritated the area around it is...use your own discretion.

you shouldn't shave on top of the tattoo until it is completely healed. two weeks. even after the scabbing has come off it still isn't healed and will be sensitive to the razor.

Not until it's fully healed. But once it's healed, you can shave over it like normal skin.

Shave when you are no longer peeling - be careful when you shave around it though - don't get to close it can irrate it.
