I follow my own rules.

Edit: thanks guys for the thumbs down, it shows how much you can accept others' points of view and follow Luke's saying by not Judging and Condemning.

This is the most distorted scripture in the body of Christ because it is used to cover hundreds of sins and attempts to silence spiritual men and women. Even Jesus told us that we would know a tree by its fruit. Isn't that judgment? How would we discern if a brother or sister is living in sin without judging according to the word of God?

Here are some scriptures you may or may not want to read that require us to judge.

John 7:24 - "Judge not according to appearance, but JUDGE RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT."

I Corinthians 2:15 - "But he that is spiritual JUDGETH ALL THINGS, yet he himself is judged of no man."

1 Corinthians 6:2-5 - "Do ye not know that THE SAINTS SHALL JUDGE THE WORLD; and if the world shall be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that WE SHALL JUDGE ANGELS; HOW MUCH MORE things that pertain to this life. If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, SET THEM TO JUDGE who are the least esteemed in the church. I speak to your shame; IS IT SO THAT THERE IS NOT A WISE MAN AMONG YOU? no, not one that shall be able to JUDGE BETWEEN HIS BRETHREN?"

I Corinthians 14:29 - "Let the prophets speak two or three, and LET THE OTHER JUDGE."

There is more scripture concerning this, however that should suffice. It is the kind of judgment we do that is condemned if it comes from wrong motivation or an evil heart. God is not saying we should never judge anyone or anything.

That's a harder one to follow than most people think. I was raised very religiously and now I'm not so religious. Not judging someone is something that has to be on the inside too, not just how you act toward others. By just physcially ignoring what someone is doing but inwardly feeling "it's okay they'll get theirs in the end" is judging someone. Jesus didn't think on the cross "oh it's okay, cause they'll all get what's coming to them" he wanted them to be forgiven. Nuff said.

Theres an inherent clash of ideas in the head of the average Christian who considers preaching, a necessary way of the lord.

The clash: unless you judge a person and decide theyre saved or not, you cant preach to them to save them :)

So I dont know, Im not a Christian, but I would be torn in between these two teachings if I was.

I try very hard to realize that those that don't agree with my line of thinking have done nothing more than make a choice different from mine.
Since God gave us freewill who am I to question your choices.
I may not agree with your choices but I defend your right to make them.
I judge no one and appreciate the same courtesy.
