30% of the questions under Los Angeles are about Orange county. Why can't they distinguish between the two? Give us our own section!!!!!

Wahington D.C. isnt a city either. In addittion, the fact that so many qquestions are about Organge county is why they should have a section about it, not simply because of its popularity.

Well, Anaheim gets most of the tourists, so they could always use it as a proxy for Orange County.
But the city argument basically holds true.
Technically, Washington DC is a federal territory (like Guam and American Samoa), but it is governed as a city. Adrian Fenty isn't the Governor of DC, he's the Mayor. They don't have a legislature in DC; they have a City Council. Likewise...Miami, Honolulu, and San Francisco are counties, but they're also governed as cities (with a Mayor and City Council).
In contrast, Orange County is not governed as a city, and it seems unlikely that it ever will be. Such a change means that all the constituent cities have to give up their autonomy. And given OC's political bent, I doubt anyone's interested in more centralization.

It's it the same metropolitan area as Los Angeles and many travelers who go to Orange County are also going to LA attractions. You can make the same argument that New Jersey should have it's own section as much of the state is in the either the New York City or Philadelphia metro areas.
Washington, DC is a city. Washington is the actual name of the city and it's in the federal District of Columbia.
It doesn't really make sense to give OC it's own section b/c it's in the same metro area as LA just like Ft Worth is part of Dallas and NJ is part of NYC or Philadeplhia. BUT Y!Answers gives a section to San Jose even though it's in the same metro area as SF and most San Jose questions are answered in the SF category anyways. Y! Answer has some bias or something b/c they are located near San Jose, there is no good reason that boring city should have its own category. Or there is no reason why cities like Baltimore, Tampa, or the Twin Cities do not have their own section when a place like Sacramento does. The people at Y! are wierd.

-Disneyland/California Adventure -Downtown Disney -Angel Stadium to catch an Angels Game -South coast plaza in costa mesa -The block in orange -Irvine Spectrum Head out to pasadena though. Not too far from the OC. about 30 minutes depending on traffic. They have a strip of shops, restaurants, and clubs/bars.

The travel section lists by city names. OC is a county. They would have to choose an OC city, such as Anaheim... But, it is very difficult to get Y/A to add a new city to the list.

The human mind is not capable of understanding the inner workings of Yahoo! Answers. The people who run this site seem to exist in a world all their own. I'm not sure that they are even people. Has anyone ever actually talked to one of them?

i agree with you, but because OC is just as popular as LA and they are pretty close to each other. and because i believe they have approximately 50 cities because of the 50 states, the most popular or well known city or capital etc. takes the position... they cant name every city..

It probably should, especially since low traffic Sacramento is listed and there are a lot of O.C. peeps here and a lot of things going on in the O.C.
