Good question. I believe our lives here on Earth is a spiritual journey and that we can experience all planes of existence (call these different planes whatever name you choose) at different times of our lives. Life on earth can be all things ... heaven for some, hell for some, purgatory for some, limbo for some - metaphorically speaking. Although purgatory would be a good word to use to describe those who live a tormented life here on earth, since purgatory is designated as a temporary or limited condition and death will release them from the pain of a tormented life. There are so many theories about life, and death, and afterlife. Do we choose to come back? Do we choose the kind of spiritual journey we will have and for what purpose? Are their lessons in this life we need to learn for our spiritual growth? What a mystery life is and I, for one, have no answers - just my faith and my belief in God and his infinite wisdom, which sustains me.

No, but it sure can be hell for some people,, you should see some of the screwed up things many of the diseases common in the less explored hemisphere do to the body.

Luckily, you probably live in the United States, where the spoiled society has their daily fashion and technological obsessions to keep them distracted from what so many people are facing.

No and I don't believe in purgatory. Abraham's bosom went up to heaven with Christ.

LOL. I heard a fellow Anglican Priest give that answer one time. A lady asked him: "Father, surely you cannot believe in Purgatory?"

His answer: "Madame, where, exactly, do you think you ARE??"

No such thing as purgatory. It is an invention of the catholic cult to raise money for the genocidal Vatican.

I hope not. There is a enough pain, suffering and injustice on earth. There's no need for a place worse than this.
