Yes the bible says that a family that prays together do stay together and christians divorce rate probably due to division cause the bible says that a house that is divided cannot stand. Also their beliefs was probably different and they did not pray or somewhere along the line doubted in their hearts and did not exercise their faith. Atheists and agnostics perhaps husband and wife are on the same accord of belief, reason for no discord to lead to a divorce.

Divorce rates among Christian groups:

The slogan: "The family that prays together, stays together" is well known. There has been much anecdotal evidence that has led to "unsubstantiated claims that the divorce rate for Christians who attended church regularly, pray together or who meet other conditions is only 1 or 2 percent". 8 Emphasis ours]. Dr. Tom Ellis, chairman of the Southern Baptist Convention's Council on the Family said that for "...born-again Christian couples who marry...in the church after having received premarital counseling...and attend church regularly and pray daily together..." experience only 1 divorce out of nearly 39,000 marriages -- or 0.00256 percent. 9

A recent study by the Barna Research Group throws extreme doubt on these estimates. Barna released the results of their poll about divorce on 1999-DEC-21. 1 They had interviewed 3,854 adults from the 48 contiguous states. The margin of error is ±2 percentage points. The survey found:
bullet 11% of the adult population is currently divorced.
bullet 25% of adults have had at least one divorce during their lifetime.
bullet Divorce rates among conservative Christians were significantly higher than for other faith groups, and much higher than Atheists and Agnostics experience.

If this is true, it's probably because atheists and agnostics don't feel compelled to marry, so you don't have a high divorce rate for them. They will probably just live together. So hence lower divorce rate.
It's terrible that there is divorce anyway. People give up too quickly and don't work for their marriages. People will work harder to keep a job they hate than to keep a marriage together. Where are our priorities? Our children and our communities suffer from the high divorce rate.

We are not perfect, only God is perfect. We all have choices to make. Sometimes we stray from the Lord. Many times a person that was brought up in a christian family, may stray, but you know, so many will find their way back. It is the foundation of that strength in the Lord that will bring us back to him. People make their own choices. All will not come to the Lord, it is His hope that they all will, but He knows all will not. As far as divorce, I don't think people take committment seriously. It's easier to divorce and not stay and work things through. There are circumstances though, where divorce in my opinion is called for, but that is my opinion. I hope answer has helped some. :)

that query has too many compounding variables. In different words there are too many different components that come into play to grant you an precise answer. i could decide on a distinctive subject count. Say that a relatives that prays jointly continues to be jointly is nearly a guy or woman who eats gets fats. there is too many questions with the two. Does the relatives have any psychological ailment, alcohol abuse, economic problems, or member that in basic terms are actually not non secular?

My family is full of devout Christians and most of them have been divorced at least once. To think that saying "what God has put together let no man put asunder" will actually keep your marriage together is a superstition.

It's a catchphrase to try and "prove" that families focused on Christianity are a lot stronger than those that aren't, against the evidence.
