If you've already done tattoos, then your portforlio should include photos of tats that you've done. Pictures should be good-quality (in focus, good color, etc.). You can also include drawings of tattoos, but the majority of your portfolio should be photos.

If you're seeking an apprenticeship, then you should assemble a collection of your best artwork. If manga is you're specialty, include it. Everything you include should be your best quality---good paper, no smudges or dog-earred pages, etc. But try to provide some examples of other work (such as more traditional tattoo styles) since as a tattoo artist you will often be working a variety of styles that will be the client's choice.

Are you looking to become a tattoo artist? Or are you a tattoo artist?

If your looking to learn, fill it with drawings. Most places will not except Manga as art. No offence, my art college wouldnt accept it, neither does the shop I work at.

If you can draw anything except manga fill your portfolio with that. Practise your skills, try looking up different styles of tattooing. Traditional, realistic, portraits, floral, etc. And find the one your good and and fill your portfolio with that. or do a bit of everything.

Do some research.

a tattoo artist should put pictures of tattoos they have done and not drawings. just because someone can draw doesn't mean that they can tattoo. i wouldn't let someone tattoo me if they only had pictures of drawings in their portfolio. it should be a reflection of your tattoo talent and ability, not just what you can do on paper.
