what does that question even mean?

2007-09-10 07:13:48 · answer #1 · answered by Me 4 · 0 0

Yes it is. There is much proof. Firstly, there is no other religious scripture that claims to be totally the direct word of God as clearly and as often as the Qur'an:
"Do they not reflect upon the Qur'an? Had it been from other than Allah, they would have found within it much contradiction." [4:82]
At the time the Qur'an was revealed, the arabs recognised that the language of the Qur'an was unique and distinctly different from the language spoken by the Prophet Muhammed and his people. On top of that he was illiterate, the Qur'an mentions it so if it was false, certainly his contemporaries would have protested and exposed him.
It can be said that the Qur'an is the piece of Arabic literature par excellence - and muhammad's enemies realised as much as they tried, they could not outdo or even equal it.
Furthermore, the Qur'an recounts several instances where Muahmmad was criticized and corrected by God for him unintentional human errors.

Of course not, everything can and should be questioned. All religions are full of holes and none are either right or wrong. All religion is about making sense of the world around you and giving you a set of rules to live by. Believe whatever makes you happy but don't be fooled into thinking that anyone has all the answers.

Obviously not.

It teaches man is made from a clump of blood in one passage.

Later it says man is made from a clump of mud.

Both cannot be true.

It also teachs violence:
Qu'ran approves of terrorism
sura 2:193 Fight the infidels until they accept Islam.

sura 2:191 And slay them (unbelievers) wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter;

sura 9:28 The infidels are unclean; do not let them into a mosque.

sura 9:73 Be harsh with the unbelievers.

sura 22:19 Punish the unbelievers with garments of fire, hooked iron rods, boiling water; melt their skin and bellies.

sura 25:52 Fight the unbelievers vigorously without any exception.

I believe yes.

I have looked at many anti Islamic websites and looked at their arguments, most of them failed when I studied quran and some of them used faulty arguments or facts.

TO OMARX786:
I read about this hadith before, that you mentioned in the link you provided. The verses were written on a piece of skin that was eaten by a bug.
The Hadith doesn't say that these verses are not included in the Qurat, does it??
Most Revelations are memorized by people. Revelations were not restricted to Aiysha only. If Aiysha heard something, then hundreded of Muslims did. Because as I said, the prophet never restrcited the revelation to Aiysha only.

Now, do you have a proof that these verses are not included in the Quran?? Because all you have is that verses were with Aiysha and she lost them, and that doesn't say that Aiyash was the only one with the verses.

All of the above is assuming that the Hadith is correct.
If you have little knowledge about Islamic Hadith, you will find that Hadiths have labels as trusted, and weak.
The weak Hadith are the one that are not proven correctly.
Why do we keep them, to identify them when someone like you present them.
To your knowledge, the Hadith is labeled WEAK.

Although it has some powerfully grand information in it, only God is truly infallible. Peace and God Bless.

Asking if the Quran is infallible is like asking if Jerry Springers guests are all Rhodes Scholars. In fact, this question is absurd, the better question would have been "what is true in the Quran" or "Is there anything worth keeping from the Quran".

This is the same book which claims, in the clearest possible language, that the sun sets into a muddy place on earth:

Quran 18:86 “(Zul-Qarnain travelled till) when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it set in a spring of murky water: near it (sun in spring) he found a People” http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/018.qmt.html#018.086

How about this gem:

Quran 20:53 "he (allah) who has, made for you the earth like a carpet spread out" http://www.usc.edu/dept/msa/quran/020.qmt.html#020.053

And you can never forget all the peace in the Quran, now thats a whole new way of looking at peace...its the kind of peace that leaves you in pieces.
