India has been described as" the unity in diversity". Hindi is the national language and also the official language. In the Official Language Act the country has been divided roughly in to three zones A- the absolute hindi speaking , B- mixer and C- non hindi speaking. So time is not yet ripe to use hindi all throughout the country.

Bcoz Hindi is Indian National Language. N very easy to speak . I think there should be no burden to anyone. If anyone feel comfortable in speaking in his/her own language, than there is nothing wrong . But if any official work comes in way N without Hindi it is not running smoothly than it should be use must. As being a National Language ,almost in every Indian state it is spoken, written N taught. But it should not be a center point of fighting. Bcoz every language is a part of Knowledge N teaches us the lesson of Love. So we should have intentions, behave N should be practical like a Literate person with self respect, not like Illiterates . Some political parties / personalities use this issue for their own gain/ purpose. So they use this like an arm . N innocent people become pray of their dirty game. So their is need of public awareness N only we people can do that. take care Thank You..

Why does this bother you so much? To get all hot under the collar because you are having to learn something in school makes you sound like a very narrow-minded person indeed. If you are Indian, then you are Indian whatever language you happen to speak. Whatever language you communicate in.....it doesn't change who you actually are and being proud of being Indian is wonderful. If you are living in a society that happens to speak English, then it's a good idea to learn to speak English too because without that knowledge life will be difficult for you. If, however, you live in a society which speaks Hindi, then being able to speak a different language (or even 2 or 3 different languages) is a feather in your cap. School is there to broaden your mind and your experience. Learn everything you can whether it is languages or mathematics or science. What you learn and what you know do not change your being who you are, they just enhance your abilities and character.

Why did you post this question in english? Don't
become obsessed with the language. Remember at
the moment we are leading for the job because of our
knowledge of english and soon China is surging ahead
to overcome us. Be practical and not dogmatic.

It is certainly pain full to see that Indian people are giving more priority to foreign languages instead of our language,HINDI.But in these times of globalisation,Learning other languages is also important. But still it should be seen that much more importance is given to our own languages.

Saare yahi sochte hain. Par majboori hindi bhi english mein likhni parh rahi hai. Jitna marzi parh lo english nahin aati to gawaar ho aur agar bol lo to parhe likhe chahe school ka kabhi gate bhi na dekha ho.
English universal language hai par humne isse maa-boli (mother tongue) bana liya hai.
