Aprons may serve three functions.

1) A uniform indicating professional occupation (maids, butchers, blacksmiths, chefs, nurses' aids) ... this wouldn't apply here.

2) Protective clothing ... the origin of the use as "uniform". They're still excellent. The alternative is a "smock" top, such as worn by pharmacists, some physicians and dentists, and by some cleaning personnel.

3) Pockets! The more pockets, the better. Pick up stuff and put it into the pockets. Have cleaning cloths in the pockets. You will save many steps by wearing either a multi-pocketed apron or smock top. The briefest form of this a carpenter's nail apron from a hardware store.

I recommend you pick the variety in which you feel comfortable, but one with pockets, in any case. :-)

This sounds like a joke! If you are that messy then wear an apron....ANY type YOU like will be sufficient! How silly!

One with big pockets would be good for putting the small misc. you find that goes somewhere else.

Is your room so bad you really need an apron?
