To me, I would say US Army DELTA FORCE.

Spetsnaz are pretty nails.The SAS are nails too. The Israelis only really blow up kids and people's houses so they are just bully boys. I'm sure the commanders of all these units would hope that none of them are like Spartans in that they would all be a homo-erotic brotherhood and that might get them laughed at.

There is no hardier warrior than the Russian man.
Many tactics used to train the Spetsnaz would be considered
cruel and unusual punishment by western European/Anglo American standards. Patriotism (of the masses) runs much deeper in Russia as well and that may be why men are willing to endure more hardship for the security of their people.
That being said, all special forces units regardless of National origin are filled with quality warriors.

Sparta was a small society devoted to the preservation of its way of life, which involved ruling a very large slave class - and practicing warfare on them.
Spartan mothers told thier sons to return with their sheild or on it (dead) - no modern western mother would do that.
No modern soldier is trained from infancy as a warrior.
EDIT:
I think "Pink Thong" probably has it right - its from the Islamic world that you will get a spartan level of commitment and self-sacrifice - not the west.

The Spartans where a bunch of blokes in short skirts with spears and swords, none of the above would have any trouble disposing of them.
You question is obviously formed from watching the recent movie which bears no resemblence to real life thousands of years ago.
Your question is so pointless.
Obviously "Nothing-in-the-brain-Maxamus" know's nothing about the modern Israeli Defence Forces, and as a dumb civilian should keep his trap shut.
