I'm using Canon A700 with two AA batteries for almost one year, now my battery has problem, when the two AA batteries were fully charged, then I put in my digicam and leave it because I seldom use my digicam now, but after few days I cannot open my digicam anymore because the AA batteries are run out of battery again, what's the problem with my batteries and what should I do when I don't want to use my camera, take out the batteries?

Basically, it's a bad idea to store batteries in something. If you don't plan on using the device, don't put the batteries in. Most devices use some electrical power, even when off. They keep a clock or similar circuits running so you don't have to set it every time you turn the device on. But if you are experiencing a very short run time on the batteries the most likely situation is that the batteries are bad.

Your camera could have a short in it, your batteries could be toast, are they ni-cad or nimh? Lots of variables here. I have a Canon A700 a year old, I use MAHA 2700 mah batteries and the proper charger and have absolutely no problems.
