1. [Wm] on my hip for my boyfriend (now fiance) 6 years ago when I was 18. I don't regret it at all.
2 & 3. A mermaid and a swallow on opposite sides of my chest. I got these at age 20. They are my favorites, no regret.
4. Virulent &hearts on my wrist in white ink. I was 23. I don't regret it, but I do wish that my ink wasn't turning yellow.
5. C37859 on the inside of my lower lip, I was 23. Again, I don't regret it, but I do wish that it had held up better, it needs a touchup.

I have 9 tattoos. Got my first one at age 17 (with signed permission from my parents). I'm now 22.

The only thing I regret is not getting someone with more knowledge and experience to do my large tattoo. Look around for the best artist in your area. You may have to pay a bit more and wait a few months, but it's worth it.

I think a tattoo says a lot about a person and not necessarily positive things.
Whilst it should be true that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, people often do. If your tattoo is visible, you will be judged by it on most occasions when meeting new people. If it is hidden, why bother?
I am sure there is a correlation between tattoos and Adidas/ Nike/Puma clothing. There is some kind of herd mentality. At 17 I wanted a tattoo, I chose to wait. Now in my forties, I am so glad I didn't get one.
When you meet me, you meet me as I am, not decorated as I was thirty years ago. I have evolved as a human being and have pretty much left my youth behind.

There, I guess I probably sound like your dad,

I have just the one tattoo, although it is quite large. Its on my lower back and its a tribal design. I was only 16 when i got it, which i know is young but i had been thinking about it for years and i even discussed it with my parents before i got it - and my mum even came with me and got one done at the same time. I think that a tattoo can be a great expression of individuality, personality and artistic feeling but i would advise anyone who is young and thinking about getting one that they do discuss it with someone responsible first or you could end up regretting it big time!!

i did hear of this one girl at the age of 15 i think it was got a big pic of Winnie the pooh with Granada under it tattooed on her upper arm and it was terrible looking - it took up her whole arm! and she done it all in secret without anyone knowing ... and most definitely she regrets it!

I have one tattoo on my stomach, I got it when I was about 18. I don't really regret it, but am soooo glad that I have it in a place where it can be hidden. Saying that, if I was doing it again, I wouldn't bother! I know a few people who have had nightmares trying to cover them for things like weddings.

I have 2, and am getting my 3rd tomorrow. My current tattoos are a constellation (when I was 16, legally and with consent), and a line from a poem (18).

I don't regret either of them at all. In fact, I feel more myself now that I have them.

I've got the one tattoo but i've always been meaning to get another. I've got a scorpion on the top of my right arm. I got it when i was 15 and i still remember the grief i got when my parents found out. I hid it for about a year and then we went on a beach type holiday. I had to come clean then obviously.
I've never regretted it at all.

I have one, which I got when I was 23. I don't regret it at all! It was something that I thought very carefully about for a long time (5 years) before I finally decided that I wanted to do it. I love it! I have a dolphin jumping out of water: representative of some of my favorite memories of childhood at the beach with my parents.
