Someone told me if I drink (I'm 16) and pretend someone else gave it to me. . .that someone else will get in trouble and not me?? The beer belongs to this annoying guy I live with and he's an alcoholic who leaves the booze accessible to me. . .

Since he apparently did not give you permission to drink his beer, he will not get in trouble. You can pretend all you want, but the truth is no one gave it to you, and you are accountable for your actions.

What are you doing "living" with someone at 16? Why are you not living with a relative or guardian or older sibling? If you "set up" this person they can argue that you did what you did on your own and you can end up in 'Juvie" till you are 21 (18 if a relative or parent is willing to have you "probationed' in their care). Ya know all the yahoo Q&A's are recorded permanently and even if you delete it it is still in the yahoo archives and whoever you are trying to get into trouble can research your question and then you are up for "Conspiacy to commit" charges? Ar you trying to get a parent in trouble? arer you trying to "get out of the house to go stay or be with this "someone you are probably not allowed to see"?

You are sixteen and you're contemplating deliberately getting someone else into trouble for something that you are choosing to do??? Are you sure your sixteen? This sounds very much like the way a little child would think.

you know consumption of alcohol by minors is not illegal in a lot of states. If you are with a parent/guardian who is of legal age. Its kinda confusing and im no lawyer so ill just leave it at that. You could do some research maybe

Trying to find someone to blame for your guilt is not a mature thing to do. If you believe that you are old enough to drink then it means you are mature enough to take the responsibility of your faults.

He might go to jail, but you will go to juvenile jail, and have to go to classes for alcoholism. Those classes are soooo much fun--not!!!
