I went to the dr a week ago and she told me I have a kidney infection and gave my Levequin and pain meds. I finnished the antibiotic sunday morning but im still hurting severly, like I havent even taken anything for it. But I have been drinking plenty of water and everything the dr told me I did.
Could it be something more than just a kidney infection? Mabey a misdiagnosis? My symptoms are... Pain in my lower back. feeling like i need to pee every 5 minutes and not being able to. Throwing up. can someone please help me.

GET BACK TO THE DR-- or go tp the ER
My sister a week ago ignored it and eneded up in the hospital her kidneys were so pus filled that they had to put in a PICC LINE
of course this is the worse case scenario -they are preparing to remove her kidney- Hopefully yours wont get that far, but it could.. if not taken care of now. You can live on a 1/3 of a kidney..but geez
PLEASE GO asap It sounds like the antibiotic didnt do a thing! They need to do a CT scan or an IVP to find out why you still have it
hope you feel better soon - this isnot fun!

It might be a pinched nerve in your back..this can press on your bladder and cause these symptoms..see a good chiropractor trained in the Palmer method.
For kidney infection, this formula is said to never fail. He tells of a man with bone cancer in 90% of his bones who had been cauterized so much from prostate cancer that he had raging bladder in infections that a number of doctors and drugs could not fix..in three days the man was screaming into the phone..I can;t believe it..you fixed in 3 days something no doctor with all their drugs could fix..he went on to do the incurables program and reversed his bone and prostrate cancer.
Try these things..they are the best on the market I feel..see his website herbdoc.com for why they are the best.

you might also want to do a 5 day cleanse--this will be very helpful too. Here is how to do it using the herb formulas listed above.
http://curezone.com/schulze/herbal_5day_kidney_cleanse.asp
You might also start drinking 2 tbs of raw apple cider vinegar and two tbs of honey (raw preferred) or substitute sea salt for the honey three times a day or mix up a big bottle of it and sip throughout the day. also drink cranberry juice and drink cranberry tea.
Alternative health works but you do need to get the right diagnosis..if it is kidney infection I think these steps will help and also see a chiropractor...as it may be a herniated disk...did you injure yourself lately?
Good luck and don;t be afraid to call the doctor back and get rechecked but still do this stuff and be sure to eat a lot of yogurt as antibiotics cause havoc by killing the good bacteria as well as the bad..garlic does not do this..it selectively kills only the bad..add 3-5 cloves of raw garlic or more to your day...not caps but if you absolutely refuse to take garlic at least take some at night and use only kyolic garlic in the day..none of the others has any effect and nothing substitutes for raw.

Do not automatically presume that the combination of suprapubic discomfort, urgency and urinary frequency implies cystitis; suprapubic pain could be due to bladder spasms, which are secondary to an early epidural compression syndrome, and the combination of suprapubic discomfort + urinary urgency + decreased urinary stream may reflect early bladder nerve compression, which may precede the development of frank urinary retention in patients with an early epidural compression syndrome
Unrelenting low back pain, that is worse when supine or at night while at rest, is a "red flag" suggesting a malignancy or infection - especially if it has been present for more than a few weeks
Most common cause is UTI-urinary tract infections as well as from kidney infection

Hi Trinity, first i have to say don't worry too much. From your symptoms it is most probably urinary tract infection, which is quite common in women. The symptoms including urinary frequency, bladder pain, urinary urgency or vomitting, nausea etc. It is mainly caused by bacteria (maybe E.coli) infection. So your doctor did not misdiagnosis. Normally patients will be given antibiotic and avoiding caffeine, like coffee and smoking. However, I reckon you to revisited your doctor for the urine test if still haven't recover yet because there might be underlying causes. There is too much to say but I don't think your case is that complicated.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.
They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!
This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.
It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.
