first off, let me just say that i don't have any religious affiliation. i don't have a problem with people of faith unless they try to force their beliefs on others. i believe that most religions teach good values such as forgiveness, unconditional love (even for your enemies), and being generous. please don't try to convert me and i won't try to change your mind about your faith. thanks.
(for a second here, i'll just assume that there is a god.)
here it is:
if god is really all knowing, what would be the point of living? i might be wrong but i thought life on earth was supposedly a test, of sorts. you know, to see if we deserve to go to heaven. if god is omnescient, he should know whether we'll end up going to heaven or hell before we're even born. i just can't seem to wrap my mind around this. :) if anyone could give me some insight or something, i'd really appreciate it.
thanks.

Your centre-point is still "The existance of God"!!
Do you agree that society needs some rule of law to maintain peace & harmony within its teritory?
who will decide the good and bad for the population?
If human-leaders are allowed to make the law they would not be able to design a perfect law which could protect the poor and powerfull. History tell us that human societies could not frame such rules & laws and ultimatly the civilizations were destroyed.
We (believers) think that the Creator of this universe knows the nature of his creations hence he is the only authority to decide as to what is best for us.
You say you have no problem with the believers but it took thousands of years to reach at this mental level- to accept the rights of humanity. Ofcourse with the light and blassings of Almighty God!

I could tell you but I would have to preach to you for you to understand or at least that's how you would perceive it.
So I'll just say that if you have faith and believe Jesus is your Lord and Savior and turn your life over to him the Holy Spirit would speak to you and give you wisdom to understand such things as you just asked.
But until then you probably won't understand even if someone tries to explain it to you.
And faith by the way isn't believing in something that's not there or something you can't prove exists.
Faith is a fact and is something you believe in that can be proven exists.
I have faith because I can prove God exists and I can prove the bible is the living word of God.
Faith=Fact.

God gave you life. Without God to give you life, THERE WOULD BE **NO** YOU!
You owe God for your all. So the point of living is to know, love and serve the GOD THAT MADE YOU.
Sure - God knows right now where you will end up. He knew before you were even born. But now you have to live the life that HE GAVE YOU.
Wherever you end up will not be God's decision. And it will not be by accident. It waill be because you either love and serve the GOD THAT MADE YOU or you reject YOUR ONLY SOURCE OF SALVATION.
Face it - just like everyone who ever lives, you were born a sinner into a sinful world. You can be saved from this sinful conditon and sinful world BUT YOU CAN'T SAVE YOURSELF! You need a Savior. And that is the GOD THAT MADE YOU. He alone can save you and He will if you ask and let Him.

It is not called the "Mystery of Faith" for no reason. Faith is believing without proof.
Yesterday is history
tomorrow's a mystery
Today is a Gift! That is why they call it the present.
I believe if you leave this world a little better than it was when you came into it, you have performed a miracle on earth. I also do not believe that we are an accident. If so, what was the purpose? I believe because I have faith; and my faith is something I just don't question. I question the so-called "churches" some times, but never my faith.
Good luck to you in your searching.

First time I saw a very kind Atheists, thanks allot for being respectful.
Allah swt. is All-Knowing and at the same time All-Just, All-Wise as well.
He will not take any action about our future in eternal life of hereafter, without any justification. It is the demand of His being All-Wise and All-Just, even He is All-Knowing, All-Powerful and can do any thing, no one can question Him, But His All Mighty Wisdom fixes certain parameters by His own will, to perform some procedures to justify all of His actions, specially related to ones future.
I will try to explain it thru an example:
A wise, loving and well experience teacher always know prior to any test which ones of his students will fail or pass the exam, But he/she never decide it without taking an exam, as the student who would be announced as failed, would ask a justification of their failure and the passed ones may ask the justification of why he/she was not given a first position.
I hope my dear friend you got my point.

God is, all knowing, and can, know, what sort of person we will become, before we are born, but that does not mean that he looks into that or that he predestines our life to the extent that we have no say, God did have a purpose for the earth and mankind when he created them( but the earth was not to be a testing ground for humans to see wether we would go to heaven)(Isaiah45:18)When he Created Adam and Eve he did not hold out before them the prospect of going to heaven, but he told them to fill the earth and subdue it(Genesis1:28)because he wanted them to live on the earth forever in happiness and peace but even though his purpoase took a different turn, it did not change his purpose still stands,(Psalm37:11,29) and he will bring it about, although to bring his purpose to the earth he will soon need to intervene in mankinds affairs, through his messianic kingdom led by his son Jesus Christ, that is what the second coming of Jesus Christ means for us,God's intervention in mankinds affairs.

Try to understand it like this when you are a hungry and you want to eat something do you have the choice of what you want to eat? For exp: sandwich of (pork and anther meet) I think you do have to go for one of them okay shall we say meet sandwich!!!!! God knows what you are going to have before you even decided what you are going to have!!! And he let you have the one you want but here there is in some religions you could not have a pork sandwich because pork is forbidden. So you did have that choice and you chose not to listen to God order but you listen to your own. so here where you could put the different between Animals and human put that in mind we are as human the beast creature god ever created why because we the only ones who have that brine and have choices in life. God want you to come to his Heaven and he gave you enough time to think it over. do not come later and tell him I am sorry you have the chance to say I am sorry all your life long then you would not have that comfort to do so. I hope that I got you to pick of light with out even telling you what religion I am in.

Allah (awj) created us because He is munificent. In other words, the goal and reason behind creation is Allah’s (awj) attribute of munificence. Since, Allah’s (awj) attributes of essence are not extraneous to His essence, we can conclude that the goal of creation is Allah’s (awj) essence.
Allah created us to the architecture of the universe....
To be his soldiers and men in constructing the universe...
To work, to taste the test and the beauty of success...
To give us a burden which make us better than angels.. Angels have no choice but to obey.. imagine a creature with free will to sin, but also chooses to obey.. That is the great winner...
"I created the jinn and humankind only that they might worship Me." 51: 56
He didn't need our prayers, we needed that.. we, the souls flying around the throne.. who choose to take the burden and come to earth so that we may reach a rank better than angels...
ِAllah created us from nothing.. and gave us feelings and bodies to give us the chance to dwell the Heaven...
Non existence or heaven?
You ask that question to yourself...
Non Existence or being a succesor of Heaven?

The Bible teaches that we have all inherited original sin from our ancestors, Adam and Eve, due to their "fall" in the Garden in Eden.
It seems strange to me that we'd keep having offspring and grow to a population of over 6 billion people, all born in original sin. When we could not have come from one couple 6000 years ago.

God does know who will be saved and who won't because He is the deciding factor, not us. He chooses and decides whom He will save, and who He won't. No one deserves Heaven, we all deserve Hell because of our sin and sin nature. God is Holy, that is His overarching characteristic. Sin offends His holy nature, so sin cannot enter Heaven. You can do all the good stuff you can think of, but in the end, you still have a sin problem. Someone has to pay for that sin, someone has to take the penalty for that sin that God's holiness and righteousness demands. Either it is Christ, or it is you. Here's the thing, no one who wants salvation and eternal life will be denied. How is that so if it isn't of us? If an individual truly desires salvation, knows he is a sinner and needs a savior, that knowledge, that desire did not come from them, it came from God. Those whom God hasn't chosen, will not desire salvation, won't see themselves as sinners and won't see the need for a savior. God is perfectly fine to allow them to merrily go about their business, and face the penalty for their sin. Is that fair? Nope, fair is we all burn for eternity. God is graciously unfair, He graciously chooses out some for salvation. I hope you are one whom He has called.
