I am actually both. I am a Christian atheist. I highly doubt the existence of a God but I choose to live my life according to Christ. I love Jesus.

We believe in Jesus.. But the Bible was re-written and changed.. So we believe in "good" Parts of Bible..

Well I don't give that much time for all religion-related stuff!
So you can say I'm not that much religious guy.. but I have some interest in religions.. I have read the bible once!

We cannot be victorious Christians and be transformed to be like Jesus without knowing and living out the word of God ie the Bible. God had said the His people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge - Hosea 4:6.

well, if you are religious you believe in a god. If you believe that jesus is gods son and he had to sacrifice him and all that rubbish, then that would make you religious because he was sent by god. If you think jesus was some dude that started a religion, then I would say no. I think the best idea is just not believe in jesus or god, its the logical approach :)

Maybe it's possible to see it like that. But really, I'd consider it stupid. How do you know about Jesus? From the Bible. So, you wanna believe in Jesus but not the things he believed in or said. That simply doesn't make any sense.

I think that the question (and most of the answers) represents nothing more than a semantic quibble.

Religion is belief in a diety. If you believe in a diety, you are religious.

'Religious' is used as a comparative adjective... sort of like a sliding scale... used to gauge how involved on is in god-related activities, or thoughts. People can regard themselves as very religious... not very religious... etc. Some people say that they believe in god, but that they are not religious... that is a contradiction.

Your question is a good one... but only for the fact that it calls attention to the sloppiness of language... and the muddled state of people's thinking. My favorite example of muddles thinking is this: "Christianity is not a religion... it is a relationship with Jesus Christ." For people who say that, there is only one way to respond... "Get thee to a dictionary."

To be a Christian means not being into traditional religion, as such is clinging to things that God does not want us to do, like catholics do and others. but to be a Christian does mean we must follow the bible 100% as it is gods word through and through, ask God from your heart to guide you in understanding his word and he will. your a very pretty lady by the way. may God bless you

Jesus quoted from the bible as if it was fact. If He believed it then why wouldn't we?

I Believe you certainly can, as you can follow the games of a sport team without necessarily be a fan of the sport or a fan of the team you follow, as well as you might not believe in 100% of the rules previously stated for the sport!!

i'm kinda confuse here... c(' , )

for one, religiousity is not entirely dependent with our belief of the Bible.

secondly, believing in Jesus does not constitute religiousity per see. what is more important if a person says that he/she believes in Him is if he/she is willing to live by His examples.

so, if a person considers himself/herself as Christian because he/she is conscious and followed the sacraments, it is not an assurance...

back to your question, i think my answer is YES, one can claim to be Christian but not religious...
