Terry,

There is a good deal of control involved in being a Buddhist, but it a personal level of control. I prefer Taoism, that is far more liberating to me.

I am an Atheist now... If I were forced to choose no other choice (Wow this is very hypothetical isn't it) I would choose the esoteric religion Alchemy ...At least I would still be immersed in science borrowing bits of all religions only to the extent that I would want to..

For those who will say Alchemy is only science look it up it's considered a religion :)

Unitarian Universalism as an alternative for no religion. Because my sister is a UU, and they're okay. I tried going to the UU church for a while, and I like their principals etc. I just found the minister boring, so I didn't stick with it.

Buddhism. But i will disregard all religious rituals that tied to the organized religion. I simply would follow the philosophical path of Prince Siddharta.

I think I would pick Hinduism, even though on a first look it is different from my religion (but in reality I start to understand that it is not so much different, many differences are due to culture, but not to the religion itself).

being an atheist - i do not have a religion so if i were to pick one - it would be Buddhism. This is because it is not all about subserviently and control, it is about liberation and freedom

Judaism. Because then at least I'd be worshiping the one true God! And as a bonus, whenever I read about the Messiah, the Holy One of Israel in the Torah I'd secretly know it was talking about my Lord Jesus ;)

wow..this has never, ever, been asked before...

if i were to change religions, i think i'd be a shaolin monk, using incredible, acrobatic kung-fu to run up bamboo poles, speak 10 minutes after my mouth stopped moving, and fly through the air kicking the c'rap out of evil atheists...

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah........
