My ex-husband's new wife comes from a strongly religious family and I would like to try and identify the faith, as my daughter is exposed to it when she spends time with them.

They don't believe in celebating Christmas or birthdays.
They follow a variation of a Kosher diet.
They do not believe in evolution.
Consider themselves Christians.
Don't believe in divorse (don't know how my ex got acepted).
Women working outside home tolerated - just.

Apparently I am a Jezebel for maintaining a civil friendship with my ex, while hisnew wife is ok although having an affair with him while we were still married.

Apparently NOT Jehovah's Witness (my first guess)

Any suggestions????

I have tried asking my ex, he is an athiest and his response was "Christian, I think".
Any details are what my daughter has told me, (Yes, the Jezebel reference was made in front of her, she came home asking who Jezebel was!)
My Ex and I are still good friends, and our daughter is now 18. She gets hurt and angry at being excluded by the family because she doesn't share their beliefs, and we would like to investigate it further together - if someone could tell us what it is!

Tried Seventh Day Adventist, not that either!

Hmm... JW would have been my first guess, too.

So how about SDA then? That's Seventh Day Adventist... only because of the "variation of Kosher diet" since they follow the Mosaic laws on clean and unclean food. Would they be leaning toward vegetarianism as well?

Hope that helps.

Peace be with you.

I don't know what Faith that is,do they have a phone call and ask them or go to the building to if there is a sign. Jezebel in the Old Testament was a sorcerer, she believed in other gods and tried to get God's people to turn to them.In Revelations when Jezebel is mentioned it is referring to idolatry,so I doubt that you are a Jezebel.

Messianic Judaism? The above list makes me think this may be their religion. I hope this helps. I think you have handled everything very well, with grace and civility.

Oh what a tangled web we weave.....

You should talk this out with the father of your child and come to a mutual understanding until the child becomes of age.

What a mess. You have any idea what this act of selfishness is doing to your child? She is half you and half her father. And you are tearing her to pieces.

God help her!

their attitude does not sound very Christian to me I do not know enough about any such denomination all you need to do is focus on Jesus and teach your daughter about God's love.
