Homosexuality is also found in the animal kingdom. So if homosexuality is a matter of choice, then some rodents made the choice to become gay? huh? One rodent woke up and said, "Today I make a concious decision to feel sexually attracted to male rodents!"

P.S. If you accept that rodents are naturally gay, then your theory that homosexualtiy is a matter of choice is thus false.

Morgaine, the question is not what we're supposed to do, it is whether it's a choice or not? Get it?

I'm getting alot of retarded responses from Christians here, not surprised though. I'm not saying that we should do what animals do. I merely demonstrating that homosexuality is not a choice. Ignorant people

Remember kids, actions are the results of choice; emotions are not by choice.

When a man is born being attracted to other men, it is not by choice.

When a man gets caught diddling other men for fun in airport bathrooms, that IS a choice.

get it yet?

btw your icon is very gay, lol

Can you cite the source for this animal homosexuality?

ok... Maria S. your arguement is terribly flawed. The whole pedophilething is wrong. It has been shown time and again that being sexually abused as a child raises your risk of pedophilia by more than 75%, this means that you are NOT born a pedophile.

Also, there has never been an accurate study that found agene or part of the brain thataccounted for homosexuality.

It is a bit strange how recent scientific studies all point out that homosexuality is NOT a choice, yet people stubbornly continue to say it is one. Of course, there is a choice as to whether you actively participitate in it.

Now, to get it all going: I dare say that all sexual orientations and preferences are natural and people are born with them (hence natural). I even go so far to say that a pedophile doesn't have a choice as to who he's attracted to. However, adult and child is not a fair balance, so we have to protect our children from that.
Do we have to protect men from being with other men? I think not.

edit: it isn't flawed. It is proven that people repeat actions that were done to them as children. I know that abused adults have a higher risk of abusing children. However, psychologists say that with sexual abuse it is the trauma that makes them abuse. It is also a certain craving for power, a certain "They did it to me, it must be right"-logic.
If you go from my point, saying that a sexual orientation is something you are born with and not an action you do, then you will see that somebody abusing children doesn't have to be pedophile, somebody living in a heterosexual marriage doesn't have to be heterosexual and somebody not abusing children doesn't have to be not pedophile.

Before this gets out of hand: I do NOT, under any circumstances, approve of such violence and abuse of trust against children. I am completely against it and I think that anybody who hurt a child in such a way ought to suffer, and suffer long. I do feel sorry, however, for the pedophiles after I read an article by one. He had never done anything, he knew children were in need of protection, he even told his family and friends with children so as to help him with his "suffering" when some children were around. I do think it's the actions that make you a good or bad person, but a sexual orientation or preference isn't an action, that is something you're born with.

Just because animals do something doesn't make it right. Female praying mantises "naturally" bite the heads off of their mates after sex, that doesn't mean we should start doing it too.

Yes, that is what separates us from the animals, our ability to think and rationally decide to act or not act on our urges.

I think that *some* homosexuals are choosing that lifestyle, but I also think that *some* homosexuals are predisposed to homosexual attraction. However, God has gifted them with a mind and a will and the ability to control themselves (with God's help) and not engage in behavior that he has forbidden if they so choose.

It's just like alcoholism, some people are predisposed to addiction to alcohol, they naturally like to drink more and they naturally become more easily addicted. That does not mean that they don't make a decision each time they pick up that bottle... We all have weaknesses... for some people it's shopping, for some it's pride or vanity or sloth... for some it is homosexuality. Just like any other Christian would take precautions in those areas where he or she is weak, homosexually tempted Christians need to take special precautions not to "let the devil get a foothold" in their lives.

That's probably more than you cared to hear from me, but I love you and anyone else who is homosexually tempted and reading this. I hope you don't take this the wrong way, God bless - you should know I am a far more despicable character than someone who merely copulates with someone of the same sex... there are much worse things in life than homosexuality...

My opinion is exactly the same as Illyria's-And Linda M, I feel sorry for you for feeling that way. The depth of animal's souls runs much deeper that some humans'. You only have to look into their eyes to know this. My pets that have passed on will be waiting for me on the Other Side.

Come on people.... scientific proof of homosexuality in nature? It's everywhere... watch Discovery! LOL
My dogs homosexual... actually bisexual.... actually bi-species sexual if there is such a thing... lol. In other words he likes boy doggies, girl doggies, cats male/female... neighborhood raccoons ( that one hurt him) and any stuffed animal lying around.
But literally everywhere in the animal kingdom you find homosexuality cows, horses, apes.... being un-natual means not "of nature".... so apparantly it's not unnatural.

Animals have no soul...therefore they will have no place in heaven, therefore...they can do anything that they want! Animals were put on this earth by God for us to have dominion over them! They don't have the mental capacity to know right from wrong, unless they are trained by humans to do right from wrong! They are mostly instinctive creatures!

I am starting my own rodent sexual reassignment camp. We can't have gay rodents around. We need all the heterosexual rodent activity we can get, othewise a shortage may occur.

I thought that I gave you a good answer. Now you are asking a pretty lame question.

Animals sometimes do things to establish dominance within a group; especially mammals. If you think that they do it because they carry around sexual passions then you give them more credit than I would. I don't think that they think that far.
