The friends.

WHY would the GROOM pay for a bachelor party?

The FRIENDS do, not the groom!

Especially since the groom is usually "kidnapped" from his bed and then taken to a bar... the friends pay.

Usually it's the best man that pays for the party, unless....
If you want a certain theme that is expensive. Most bachelor parties are going out drinking, stripper, or doing something fun that they all have in comon.
For example my husband does not drink, so they had a BBQ and all of his friends over. Yes there was alcohol involved but my husband to be did not drink. Or you can have a party for the both of u at your home and go from there, to each their own. Good Luck.

If I am the groom, I won't want a bachelor party, but if my friends are in the mood to have one for me, they should pay.

The groom-to-be doesn't spend a dime!

The best man traditionally organizes the festivities, but rarely funds the entire outing solo. Although his contribution, both monetarily and in terms of elbow grease, might be the greatest of the groom's friends, it is perfectly acceptable and expected for the best man to ask for the other groomsmen to chip in.

In terms of auxiliary friends--i.e. guys not included in the wedding party, this is the best man's call. It might be in poor taste to ask them to make a financial contribution if they were not invited to be groomsmen, but if something quite elaborate is planned, and everyone seems willing and able, the best man might consider reaching his hand out a bit further to supplement the pool. The best man should consult the groomsmen and use his best judgment in this case.

Cheers

The groom should NEVER pay for a single thing. Usually the best man and the groomsmen pitch in, but it isn't uncommon for everybody who shows up to either pitch in or buy the groom drinks during the night.

The friends the groom is just suppose to have fun and enjoy himself that's all. Kinda like a last party with friends as a single man. He is not suppose to pay anything.

It's the Best Man's responsibility to set up the Bachelor Party. It's not uncommon for the Best Man to enlist the aid of the other groomsmen with logistics and cash.

Traditionally, it is the best man who is supposed to give the party, and up to him to pay for it himself, or get others to help him.
Do you wonder why the best man is often the most irresponsible of the groomsmen, wedding wise? Shows up late, or not at all, drunk, etc.?It's because he is chosen to be best man because he is probably the biggest party animal among the groom's friends, LOL guys, busted! He is most likely to know a good party, and how to get one.
