That's a pretty deep (and tough) question for this bunch. The Scriptures that I recall indicate that sin is forgiven only after it is:

recognized, confessed, and repented of.

These three things can take some time to accomplish. I believe however that by the time we face God for judgment that our sins have already been forgiven of us. We stand in Jesus' shadow so to speak. God sees His righteousness as our own.

Probably not much help, but I tried....

Christ's sacrifice forgave all the sins, past, present and future of the believer. It was at the point of His sacrifice that the work was done. When you were awakened from your dead state through the indwelling of the Spirit, and given the faith to believe, you recognized your condition in the flesh and need for a savior. The work of forgiveness and justification had already been done on your behalf, God just opened your eyes to that truth.
When you pass to the next world, you will leave your fleshly body behind, and with it, your sin nature.

When we die we return to non-existence. The hope of the Christian is the resurrection from the dead.

However, about death and sin. Death cancels all sin, it just doesn't guarantee a resurrection; thus the wicked may be sinless in death, but they are still dead - non-existent.

See what the Bible says about it:

Yes if you accept Jesus and ask God to forgive your sins and you live a according to Gods Word - you can not ask forgiveness and keep doing wrong and only God can help you through His Holy Spirit because we are weak and it is just His Grace that help and save us. This happens before we die so our lives is a testimony and example for others of His love

don't sin and don't worry about it . the parallel is do convicts on death row repent before they are killed and does the warden reward them if they do .
Convicts didn't care about their consequences but should you. the same applies for those waiting on the imaginary judgment who cares if they sin anyway . better to learn how to act right without the contrived lies that don't work and only taint right thinking with false ploys and confusion.
peace

Roman Catholic Pontiff stands in the mystery if divine merciful love of God but it is very clear that God revealed his love to us in our daily life.God is pure so as we created, pure love. Love draws love. We draw God not of something...but of love. Love, who do not know the word love. This simple word marks us that we belong to one language, which is love. And death is a life of seeing God. Then, all of us must use the language of love especially at the hour of death. Speak to God into your own simple love. I assured you, death is a death of sin and a way to God's pure love.

God removes sins in our heart, YES, but it is not important to Him. What matters most is love draws love, and that's where your sin died. We become pure, the mystery of divine merciful love of God.

i don't know what will exactly happen or what life would be after death coz i haven't been there.what i know is that Jesus Christ died on the cross of calvary to saved us from our sins. by that time we are saved--that is if we believe in Him and live the christian life.

First off, all our sins are washed away by Christ's most precious blood. If we die in a state of grace (without sin), we go straight to heaven. If we die in a state of mortal (serious) sin, we go to hell. If we have venial (less serious sins), but sins nonetheless, we go to purgatory to be cleansed from the affects of sin. We should all put our full faith and trust in God's infinite and loving mercy on our souls. God bless.

We are free from sin the moment we recognize Jesus' sacrifice for us and accept that it was payment enough for our transgressions.
