So in the garden of eden adam and eve eat the forbidden fruit and are cursed by god with mortality and women are cursed to go through painful bloody childbirth which back then threatened the lives of mother and child. It's not like Eve knew much better, god seems to never have said a single word to her, so she has spoken to a snake and Adam, who was literally born yesterday.

Cain on the other hand commits fratricide becuase "god liked his brothers offering better" and is esentially rewarded for this.

What the hell is wrong with this picture? All I can get from this is god thinks it is better to kill your own family then to aquire knowledge?

Romney I have read the bible. I have also studied the history and origins of it. It is not out of context, by far more good than bad come to Cain from this.

Another fact to remember is that when Eve ate the apple she did not have the knowledge of good and evil , so why should she be punished for something, evil according to God, she was not aware of?
Why such a harsh punishment, and on top of it ,we all have to suffer from what she did?
Why if this God is so loving and forgiving did not forgive her for something as stupid as eating a fruit, but he holds a grudge for something that demented?.
I have more compassion that the biblical god, if my child does something I disapprove I would not curse him for all his life, I would talk to him to make him understand what he did was wrong, that God has no compassion at all!

silly... read the whole chapter. I love how people take things out of context to support their prejudices... yes even the religious people.
It says that Adam and Eve would both eventually die. Eve would have pain and blood during child birth and Adam would forever have to work to support the family... (till the earth).
Cain was cast out from his family and a mark was put on him so that all who saw him would know him and his deed.... Hello! talk about a punishment.... There are very few murderers who after being let out of jail are "known forever" by their deeds....
This is put in laymans terms so you can understand it better. If you want to see it as it's really written I suggest you pick up a Bible in a second hand shop... ( they are pretty cheap) and read it. Whether you believe in it or not it's got a lot of wisdom in it.

You must have a true translation of the bible and a teacher preacher that knows the difference,.....many pool pits these days are desolate of many truths.

This has caused much non belief like you and personally me for the first 20 yrs of my life.......so i know exactly what you are saying.

I have studied the text with a true servant of God that teaches verse by verse.

What happened in the Garden is silly what most Christians are taught in church.........there is a deep meaning to the words that are translated back to the hebrew instead of the watered down TRANSLITERATION that most churches teach. But none the less their is much Wisdom an love to be drawn from his written word regardless of some mistranslations. For we should search out the truth like a hidden treasure so God may direct you in your search.

Dear friend,

You ask very perceptive questions and I'm taking them seriously. All the answers to your questions about this amazing couple will be found in the book Adam and Eve - A Tragic Love Story. In spite of its title, this is a serious and scholarly work and I highly recommend it. Good luck to you!

See what happens when you start to acquire knowledge? You start questioning God!! That is exactly why God is afraid of people acquiring knowledge, at least people who created "GOD" are!
