This is a good question. The reason why he came through Mary is because as God, He could not be on the earth with sin. He had to come in "human clothing" as a man and be born into this world.

Yes, if you read in the Old testament, Melchizedek the king of Salem was neither born nor did he die.
Jesus was the host body of the Son of God. In order for the Son to have the total experience of a man, Jesus the host had to be born of flesh. The prophesy was needed fulfillment for the people to relate to his death. There was a greater good by his death that people did not know.
He was killed by the very people who were expecting his coming.

Maybe he was not divine. Maybe he was a very wise human.
The Romans had many stories of God (Zeus) being with women (Leda). This was a way for people to grasp the concept of a super holy man on earth. Sometimes that man god had strength like Hercules and sometimes wisdom and healing like Jesus.

Christ always comes down from heaven to give life to the zygote in the mother's womb. But many of those born of man refuse to feel Christ inside. Instead, they depended on their five senses to seek Him from the outside, and waited for thousands of years for the messiah to appear. They ask God what was taking him so long.
Jesus appeared to show to the five senses how God dwells in man. Now we question the manner of his coming as Jesus?

the law of the kinsman redeemer stated one must be related, have the authority and the means to reclaim the possessions of a family member.
to be related to humans, God had to become human. why not just create a human being? then he wouldn't be a true human, not from Adam. and since Mary was going to be in David's family....
authority? He was God and He was willing. enough said.
capable? well the price for sin is death.... He has God's blood.... sacrifices had to be either meat, drink or grain offerings...... sounds capable to me (body, blood of the lamb = grain, drink - meat).
He had to enter through a person to be truly human. and besides, God doesn't break promises! He planned it that way!

He had to take on human form to share in our human spirit image. Mary was also a pure spirit incarnate to birth Jesus. Her nature was not of a fallen spirit like ours.
We are already fallen spirits. This world is a place created to save souls, a place where the un-fallen son of God became incarnate, worked miracles before thousands, and died for us, asking that we may return to the Father's kingdom through him. Death and decay are a result of the fall, because when you do not abide in Divine law, you are cut off from the light, thus we decay. Our fallen natures do not allow us to see this clearly, also we are venerable to spirits who are trying to keep us in the pit, spirits who encourage sinners to reject Jesus in their lives.
When I worship Jesus he fills my heart with love. He wakes me up and heals me. Give him a chance. Maybe the voice telling you to mock him inst the voice you should be obeying.

by being born "human", he was born into our sin, which was inherited. He became a man, and understands what it means to live in the flesh, He is know able to intercede with the Father, on our behalf. Jesus understands us from "our" perspective.

He needed to be created of flesh and endure the suffering of man. As an otherworldly spirit he wouldn't have been able to feel the compassion or experience the wonder. If you miss out on any part... From the original swimming in your mothers womb to the painful release of life... You wouldn't know what you were judging.

In His infinite wisdom, God decided that Jesus would be both the Son of God AND the Son of man. That way, Jesus was singularly qualified to build a bridge between men and God. And Jesus built this bridge with ONLY TWO PIECES OF WOOD AND THREE NAILS.
GLORY TO HIS NAME!
