No need to apologize - as said in Scrubs - "It's all in the poop!" I have fybromyalgia and take a strong combo of meds. Sometimes I have the same problem. I discovered Miralax as advertised on TV. It was apparently only by script for a long time and now it is over the counter. It is like some fiber solutions you can take. It can be put into any liquid or onto/into any food so it is really easy to take. There is no taste or smell. It takes about 7 days to get back to your normal schedule sometimes it works sooner. I buy the big purple and white bottle to have on hand when I get stuck (no pun intended). Hope this works for you too! Wishing you good health and happiness!
JB
P.S. This is my opinion and personal experience only. I am not a medical professional and this should be checked with your doctor before starting any kind of new regimen. :)

This question is not disgusting. It's a huge problem for lots of people. Myself included, but I have it under control! Miralax is FINALLY sold over the counter at any drug store. It's a lot cheaper to get a prescription from your doctor if you have insurance. Take a heaping tablespoon every morning in water. Drink WAY more water during the day. At least 8 8oz. glasses. And load up on fruits and veggies and beans. You can also take a simple stool softener every day. They're harmless. You can get the generic at the drug store. (100mgs of ducusate sodium.) And lastly, you have to move.I walk on the treadmill 6 days a week for 21 minutes. Taking a brisk walk outside is great, swimming , stationary bike, or jumping rope. Just don't stop. Do all those things, and you'll HAVE to be going more often and hopefully not pebbles. Good luck to you. :)

What is a normal diet to you? Fiber is the undigestible portion of the food we eat. It is highest in cereal grains and in certain fruits and vegetables. It is important largely because it retains moisture in the stool, allowing it to stay soft.
Liquid is absorbed from the stool in the colon. The fact that you defecate only every 3 - 5 days indicates that what liquid you have in your stool is being absorbed.
I would suggest adding fiber to your diet, starting with a fiber supplement like Citrucel or Metamucil (or several others). Prunes and Prune juice have a natural laxative effect. You could temporarily take a laxative, but I strongly suggest you not exceed two weeks to avoid becoming dependent on it.

Vicodin, a pain reliever, is known to cause constipation. To counter this side effect, drink at least 8 full glasses of water in a day, then eat a loads of oats and fibrous fruits and veggies.
Laxatives or stool softeners should never be used unless prescribed by your doctor. There are natural supplements (not laxatives) that can help you cleanse your colon regularly. I've been checking this site http://www.newcolonsweep.com/, it can be a good answer to your problem.

Pain killers are known for causing constipation. I know for sure since I've been on them and had the exact same problem.
Go to your local pharmacy and buy some over the counter stool softeners. It might take a day or two for them to work, but they losen up your bowels so you can go to the bathroom, without the harsh effects of a laxative (it makes the poo softer, and easier to come out-- but without the diarrhea).
Here's hoping you find relief soon. And, it's not disgusting, my dear... it's very normal given your situation.

Had huge problems after giving birth but after eating food with lots of fibres it got a lot better. You have to eat like whole grain bread, musli cereal and then right after drink lots of water! Really I was desperate and in a lot of pain but this is the only thing that really helped.
Good luck

Well, this may not help but a regular diet and when you wake up have coffee. Coffee is a diuretic. This should make you go in about 30-60 minutes. 2 cups should do. Are you eating regular and what are you eating? email me.

Drink lots of plain water, eat more fiber (shredded wheat cereal works for me), and if all else fails Dulcolax (over the counter constipation medication) will definitely work.

If you would like email me at newbegin@shaw.ca with a different email address other then yahoo, as it is not enough space for the info that I would like to share with you. Aso put constipation as your subject.
In the meantime....start drinking lots of water and stop drinking milk and caffeinated drinks as they are constipating, as well as sugar.
Start eating lots of veggies and do not cook them to death.
Onions, garlic, cabbage, celery, are good to move the bowels.
