While spell check may catch those errors there is not a substitute for knowing your math for engineering.

If math is such a trouble for you perhaps a tutor would help you out.

There is simply no way to overstate the importance of mathematics in electronics. You will need up through at least one year (and hopefully 2 years) of Differential Equations (and all of the pre-requisite courses, 2 years of Calculus, Trig, Advanced Algebra, etc.). You should also have to take a couple of courses in Modern Algebra where you will learn about the algebraic structures which are the basis of modern digital communications, data compression, code division multiplexing, and a few others.

If you have a math phobia, either get past it or think about a career in something besides electronics.

Don't do it.

Math is the language of engineering. Nearly everything will be based on your understanding of math. First of all, your classes will not only require you take and pass all of your math, but then, unlike some majors, require you continue to use it all the time.

If you get through, the amount of math you do may decrease. There is tools that will do circuit design, but when you hook everything up and it doesn't work, you'll need to figure out why. That is where engineers earn their money, and you will need to be able to think in a mathmatical framework to do that. You'll be chasing energy around the circuit, and to do that you'll be looking graphs and curves, and you better be able to look at several at once, and understand what is happening, and that takes an understanding of math.

Without solid math you will be wasting your time.
